Really looking forward to seeing the new purchase Chris. Have always been intrigued as to what work has gone into this car so it will be really nice to see it in the flesh .

I think we are going to have to be patient SeeJay as I guess Davindar is not going to work out his space allocations until much nearer the date. I stress this is a total guess!

The Japanese Performance Show 2019 - Sun 18th August

Post by GreySilver Beast » Mon Jan 28, 2019 1:08 pm

According to the Email I have seen sent to Chris it clearly states he only wants the best cars indoors =D> , which out of our cars on the Stand only SeeJay's and Chris's qualifies to be indoors 8) and everyone else is outdoors or in those enclosed sheds they had when I was there last year which were awful :!: :!:

Having seen them Sheds last year, some of us were glad to be outside in the Sun showing our cars off to the public and was just a pity that the JPS Organisers thought it was OK to split our Stand in half right by the entrance of the 'Indoor Show Area' :(

I agree with Chris that SeeJay should apply for an Indoor Place for his car and not just rely on the possibility that the RX-8OC will be inside, as we can't see that happening at the moment

Graham there is only so much we can do and I agree with Chris that it's too early for those sort of decisions to be made at the moment :!:

Thanks for the update Nigel.
First time it has been publicised that I am aware of about only the “Best” being allowed inside.
Who defines the “Best”? What is the criteria?
Sorry but I do not know what you mean by “it’s too early for those sort of decisions to be made at the moment” can you clarify please?

@Graham we have no control over how organisers plan their shows and both times that I have organised the JPS stand clarity has not been a feature.
We are 6 months away from the show and ad I have posted previously I doubt we will here anything until possibly a month before the event.
Regarding what “the best” is defined as then it’s the opinion of the organisers based on photos and specifications submitted with an application for the show and shine section in the main hall.
As Nigel has said above it is unlikely that even the very tidy cars will not get into the main hall as space is limited and the standards are high.
To some up, the only guaranteed thing is that if you book a ticket you will get into the show, but if you don’t of course you wont!
To quote the organisers usual response to questions “All the information is on the website”

Chris
On the 27th you made no mention of it only being the “Best” allowed indoors and that it is down to Davinder making a decision on which club will be allowed inside. The following day Nigel makes it clear that there has been an email stating only the “Best” are allowed inside.
What is going on here?

As stated previously all the information is in the show website/Facebook page. Allow me to clarify again

1) Show and Shine spots in the main hall are not allocated on a club basis but by individual car therefore car owners apply directly and if selected then they buy their ticket.
2) Clubs book 10 car stand spaces, or multiples thereof, and members buy their tickets direct from the organisers.
2) There is no facility for clubs or individuals to book a specific stand location.
3) Club stand locations for the last two years have not been known until we were directed to our stand on the day.

I trust that the above points answer your queries. If not then please have a look at the show website / Facebook page and if all is not clear then please post your questions here.

GUYS we all know that politicians are economical with the truth  and that people are mushrooms
The show is 8 months away and the organisers will wait until they have all the numbers before designing the stand areas (approx 1 month before the show )
The chances of the RX-8 club being inside is Nil, Negliable or Zero although Exiled Vikings car would clearly be allowed in ;) as would others ;)

( I'd already typed this before Chris's response )

Thank you Pete =D>

@Graham : Do bare in mind that the RX-8 is up to 15 years old now and doesn't necessarily command lots of interest from 'Joe Public' like it once did :!:

In fact last year there was more interest in my GT86 :P than Chris's Red RX-8 parked next to it with the Lambo Doors up
