Hi, I would be interested. Can children attend as spectators though?
It's a good question, what kind of age? Some places do not particularly like under 12s (Anglesey for example) near the track but was still allowed in spectator areas. My 4 yr old was asked to leave the paddock area there even though my car was parked in my garage and I was holding him. Had to go out to seated enclosed spectator area. If Alan confirms then I may bring him aswell.

I can ask for confirmation, although the Hiring Rules document does not specifically mention children at all, and states that there is a spectators area away from the circuit.

Be advised there's a generous 105dBa static noise limit and cars can be tested.

Static noise limits will be applied. For track days the limit is 105dBa max measured at 0.5m and 45degrees vertically and horizontally from the tip of the exhaust pipe with the engine running at 2/3 max revolutions.

Any of the common aftermarket exhaust systems will comfortably fall under this limit.

Fingers crossed then. The borla with the autoexe and race pipe felt pretty loud on open throttle last weekend......

Good point. From memory it's around 4k RPM.

Yeah I think I was more like 3.5k and they weren't bothered :) I doubt they check the exact RPM nudge, nudge, wink wink.

I have not driven Curborough before, so I was looking forward to this, and had intended to book last week, but life got in the way.

Then, a couple of days ago, Gwyn and I received an invite to a birthday party of a great niece, so will now not be able to attend :(

I hope it is successful and can be repeated at a later date :thumleft:

Shame you couldn't pretend that you'd already paid for this Malcolm

Assuming we get enough people paying up this time, I'd be happy to organise it myself again in a year or 2.

I did specifically ask the question and although it wasn't directly answered, the hire rules document states that there is a separate area that spectators have to stay in away from the track, which would apply to anyone not driving (including children in my interpretation). There is nothing explicitly starting that children are not permitted, so I think you'd be fine.

It is likely that there will be a cut off date, because we need to submit names of participants for insurance purposes. Conversations are in progress and I will confirm once I know more.

I've asked but not got a reply. I'd think if you turned up no-one would mind as long as they were supervised and just spectating.

Guys, no child under 16 is allowed in the pit lane at UK circuits, the garage is in the pit lane arguably
There are notices stating this
Any supervised child is allowed in spectator areas at all UK circuits regardless of age
I hope this helps

Bump for those on the list to pay through the club shop. Places still available for anyone else who wants to join.

Hopefully those with children have been satisfied by spectator rules.
