This is a very popular event, hosted by the great team at Mazdaontrack, and always sells out months before the day. There is a limit on the number of cars to 60 maximum. This gives plenty of tracktime with minimal pit-lane queues. Book early to avoid disappointment

For those of you who haven't been to this event before, it has become a bit of a tradition really, although not quite on the scale or prestige of Wimbledon , it has been a regular event in the club calendar, attended by casey every December since its inception in 2008

Noise - 105db (compulsory stationary test)

- Briefing: 08:30am
- OPL from 09.00
- Lunch 12.30-13.30

- Track Closes 16.00 (Day light permitting)

Book your place direct with Mazdaontrack via THIS LINK I suggest you DON'T book a garage as, when we know the numbers attending, we will arrange to get a block of garages together to share 3 per garage at ~£10 per head (pay cash on the day).

Newcomers to trackdays are very welcome; please be aware that the track can be a little cold, wet and greasy at this time of the year, so can be more challenging (and more fun) to drive Luckily, we've often been blessed with cool, but bright, sunny days, where most of the track dries out and warms up a bit by late morning.

We may be able to offer a "Buddy" to anyone who requests one. This means you will be assigned uan experienced trackday driver who will stay with you from the very start of the day until you are happy to untie the knot. The Buddy can help you as much or as little as you want; help with checking your car, signing on, noise testing, getting to the briefing, passenger laps (you driving, and/or Buddy driving to show lines), etc. we always recommend people new to the track also book a "formal" tuition slot, 20 mins with a qualified instructor for £30. Great value for money if you are new to trackday driving.

It's not unreasonable for it to take a few hours
The events team was decimated so it is mainly committee now

Unfortunately, I won’t be going on track this year as looks like I’ve blown a side seal as confirmed with a few symptoms and very low compression number on one of the rotor faces. I’m still planning to attend socially and all being well may even have my engine rebuilt by then but definitely not run in for the track.

Folks, looks like I've done a deal with Andy Moore (metalyk) and purchased his ticket for this track day....
I want to invite a friend - to drive my car - so what else needs doing, or can that be paid for on the day?

The extra driver will need to register and view the briefing prior to the day, else it will add a lot of faff and delay to do it on the day. It should be possible (maybe cash only too), but distracting.

Probably best to email NickD, confirm you have taken Andy's place and enquire best way to pay and secure an extra driver.

If I remember correctly, they usually run a 20min novice session straight after the sighting laps?

Hopefully someone will be along shortly to confirm this either way.

Yes, NickD has reserved a 15-20 minute session just after the sighting laps for novices for many years at this event. I don't expect him to change it, but you could email him to be 100% sure.

I know this has been done in the past but could find nothing on the website to confirm.
There will be a couple of young ladies from our group which would appreciate some slightly more relaxed time to learn the track before being thrown to the Wolves

I have checked with Nick and there is a 20 minute novice session immediately after the sighting laps so my plan is to have Margaret drive the sighting laps and then stay out, or just pit and then go out.

I think they may do several sighting laps, possibly 3 groups and I don’t think they allow you to stay out
I think everyone has to come in but if we’re in the last group it will be fresh in their minds
