***2022 Annual Meet / Blyton Park Outer Circuit***
Blyton Park Driving Centre is located approximately five miles North of Gainsborough in Lincolnshire. Like many race tracks used for track days in this country, it started life as an RAF base in 1942, with three concrete runways and a large range of hangers, bomb stores and accommodation buildings. It closed in 1954.
Blyton Park is one of our most popular track day venues. The Blyton Park circuit is not a race track. It was specifically designed and laid out as a test and trackday venue. This means it doesn’t have lots of intimidating “Armco” and tyre walls around the circuit. It has an excellent smooth tarmac surface and, should you try a little too hard there is concrete run-offs on most of the circuit. At other areas you worst you are likely to do is to run off into a field of cabbages. However, this is HIGHLY unlikely to happen unless you make a HUGE error, as the RX-8 is so forgiving and the DSC so good.
The MOT trackday would be run in Open Pit Lane format for the majority of the day, with one 20 minute “novice” session after the lunch break (if there is interest). This session would be reserved for those new to track driving and would operate with a very limited number of cars on the circuit. The session would begin with two laps behind a pace car, to show you the track and the optimal lines to take through corners, then you are free to continue on your own, but we will offer an experienced track driver in your passenger seat to give advice, if requested. If you have never driven your car on track this is an ideal opportunity to safely explore its limits. The RX-8 is a joy to drive on track, handles superbly and is very forgiving

Don’t worry about massive tyre wear during the day. As long as you’ve got 3mm+ of tread at the start of the day and your tyre pressures are correct, you are good to go.
