I am all checked in and also managed to get my air con fixed yesterday. I noticed the comments on hiring a garage to keep out of the Sun. Do you rent these on the day as it looks like there is no way of booking one on the Motorsport Events site unless I missed it? I would be happy to share the cost on a garage if anyone has one booked.

I can probably bring one of the Club gazebos if there is space to put one up; I've never been to Thurxton, can anyone confirm if there is suitable space/ground to put up a gazebo?

You can bearly fit a car in the Garage
You be better with the club gazebo and park over other side where there’s a nice breeze

I didn't book a garage because doubtful the M3LR AB will fit in one #-o let alone go through one to get into the pitlane :-k

Thanks. I heard they were small. I'll just use it to store stuff if the car doesn't fit. And maybe sit out of the sun in there for a bit at times.

I think I'll need a spare set of tyres for when my tyres melt on track... Again... So need to stick them somewhere

Well car is as ready as it’s going to be been a mad rush today in this heat. Ac up and running, medium tyres swapped to hards. Gauges fitted and working, only 2 problems one was the car cut out while loading and wouldn’t start fuel pipe popped off good job that wasn’t on track. Then evicted the mouse lol.

Enjoyed today. Tough going with the heat. By mid afternoon it got to the stage that every hot lap required an immediate cool down.

Getting the Aircon topped up last week was an inspired decision, although it got a bit overwhelmed. Drive home with a London detour was nice though.

The NS2Rs held up well, which isn't bad for a set of tyres that I acquired with a previous car and just want to kill off. They went greasy on one session, and I managed to find their limits attempting to do Church at 110ish mph and had a bit of a slide.

Lap times were ok. My previous best at Thruxton was a 1.39.99 when I first visited in 2018. I did a lot of 1.38s today, bit didn't seem to be able to go quicker, although I wouldn't be surprised if the afternoon temperatures slowed things slightly.

Need to get the gearbox swapped. Also crunches 5th a bit. Also need to work out why my rear bumper clips don't line up with the arch liner. Doesn't help that a lot of the holes have ripped through. Having it peel off each time got me black flagged, and the cable tie solution is good enough, but can hopefully be improved upon.

Thanks to John for mini-mapping my car at lunchtime.

Will now try and do a few jobs on the car and get Blyton booked for the annual meet.

TRACKDAY Thruxton Circuit - ***Monday 18th July 2022*** £169

Post by GreySilver Beast »

What a fantastic day we all had =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

Just loved driving the Tesla around the track for it's second outing =D> =D> =D> =D>

The sighting laps were extremely confusing though and was just a shock to the system

Wasn't pushing the Tesla all day on purpose as I wanted to get used to driving the car around a track, as it will be the future for me :thumright:

So the next time the Tesla goes on track, it will have New Whiteline Front and Rear Anti-Roll Bars that are a similar spec to the Model 3 Performance

The GT86 will be up for sale towards the end of the year after I come back from Spa-Francorchamps :thumleft: :(
