Absolutely gutted to say I won't be going any more on Thursday. I've spoken to Chris about credit, but I thought if we work quickly, one of you might be able to grab my spot

Really sorry to hear this Kevin. Even if you do decide you have to cancel, if the brakes are good enough to get to Snett, you could always bring it up and the combined efforts of the group can give you a hand to try and sort it out. I have at least one fresh 1 litre bottle of fluid I'm happy to donate to the cause. You could also sign up for some passenger rides and, if we do get it sorted, it's entirely possible you could do a deal with Chris at C-Days to do an afternoon session for cash. There's bound to be a few cars drop out, or don't turn up on the day, so Chris will probably be more than happy to take your money, as long as the admin and briefing can be sorted out (just a tad more difficult with c-19 restrictions).

Just emailed the CDO to make sure I am expected.... forgot to check. Not had an email telling me to naff off after doing the online check in link I nabbed of Nigel so it should be fine.

I'll have the GoPro with me and be on the look out for victims to film so I can refill Honkytonks online storage for the club YouTube channel. If anyone's interested in answering a few questions on camera let me know! If you would rather I didn't film you, also let me know via PM so I can make sure to not ask or have your car in shot.

Online briefing completed. Very entertaining delivery, not seen this Circuit Days version before :thumleft:

One serious point in there - if anyone causes a red flag in the morning then they will not be allowed out until the afternoon. A red flag in the afternoon means no more track time. That's something I've not come across before. Seems harsh, but in some circumstances it may be fully warranted. I hope they look at the individual circumstance and don't apply that rule blindly, just reserving the right to apply it. For example, I've only caused a red flag once in 80+ trackdays. It was very brief as I was able to pull up at a safe gap in the armco for easy recovery to the infield. The cause was quickly diagnosed and sorted.

No confirmation of me as a passenger booking, but then I haven’t actually booked, I just advised I would be attending in a support capacity when I informed Chris that I had sold my drivers & garage place to BigPete.
The red flag rule is interesting and I presume linked to the high incidence of red flags this year.

The new red flag rule is due to the increased frequency of red flag's used especially since lockdown.
It is also as a result of lobbying by various individuals and car clubs.
It is strange though as I always felt the problem was not enough use of the black flag for people who drive with no respect for others.

Certainly curious, as not all red flags are equal. Mr Dimwit who drops oil the entire length of the track so that action is halted for 90 mins... should be kicked out for the day IMO.

But someone who pushes a bit too hard, goes off, but is cleared in 5 mins? Maybe 30 mins in a 'sin bin' would be more appropriate. If anything so that they can get their heartrate down, check the car, grab some water and process what happened.

I don't like it when the person who caused the red flag drives straight back through the pit lane and parks at the front of the queue for the restart. Seen that too often. So I get why people having been complaining.

Maybe they created the new rule to give them the power if they need it... but will be flexible with it. As loads of other driving rules are usually barely enforced.

It’s good to see a TDO advising of new stricter rules but I do think the Red Flag penalty is a bit harsh. I have yet to see a Blue flag used at a track day but then as it is not racing should it be used? The black flag and an hours sin bin for first offence and bye bye for the day for a repeat seems fair.
But at the end of the day it is the circuit operators marshalls who make the decisions regarding flag signals not the TDO but presumably a TDO should be able to rely on Marshall’s to apply flag signals consistently from circuit to circuit.

missed a lot of expensive and fast cars :thumright:

Good day had by me , even if i had a few issues.
1st was o/side brake sticking and ended up with no meat on the pads. Changed them and the carrier problem solved
2nd rear n/side wheel came lose oops
3rd and probs the worsed N/side caliper lost one bolt so only just hanging in there lol, at least that was at the end of the day.
Great to see everyone again and catch up on some things. Home safe and sound :thumright:
