I keep my track wheels in Heyner covers. Really good quality and the handles are surprisingly resilient if you're lugging wheels around.
That's my view exactly. Death in battle is an honourable end for any RX8. Hopefully it won't come to that thoughv-rex wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 2:29 pmI'm leaning towards just taking the risk and if it turns out to be fatal for the rex, then I take the hit financially, and at least the car died doing what it loved, rather than dying from rust or carbon from being stuck in traffic in the boring roads we have these days...
Whom was you insured with out of curiosityMightyCondor wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 2:45 pmI've never insured any of my RX-8s. Maybe if they appreciate a bit more then I'll reconsider.
My FD was insured, and I'm certainly glad that it was given that I made a £15k claim

Yes, I am sure when it comes down to a claim, they will quibble over price and the process will take ages etc. The chances of a total wipeout happening are rare, never say never, but I trust myself enough on track to know my limits so the chance of me stacking it should be smaller ( perhaps false calc there ) than perhaps someone else going into me. Comes with the territory I guess and hopefully we have a sensible lot on track with us at Donny.New Duke wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 2:37 pmThat's my view exactly. I insured my car for my first 5 or 6 trackdays. Then stopped and now just accept the risk as part of the overall deal.
Ouch. £15k. You can get 6 RX-8's for that !!MightyCondor wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 2:45 pmI've never insured any of my RX-8s. Maybe if they appreciate a bit more then I'll reconsider.

If you are referring to "Little Old Me"v-rex wrote:That being said I'll wait to see if Nigel says I am allowed to come..... I think that would make me the most sad, as I have been really looking forward to this.

End of January and I will find out lolChrisHolmes wrote:The best “value” track insurance I ever had was with REIS when I insured T200 CAD as they included cover for 6 track days at no extra cost. However this year when I came to renew the RX did not qualify as it was under £5k value and the real cruncher was that it did not meet their underwriters definition / criteria for a sports car because it has 4 doors and 4 seats, the critical point being 4 doors! Despite this there are several members who still have the REIS policy renewed annually with the 6 track days cover.
