Seems to be quite busy in Wales to me, I don't really notice any difference going from England to Wales. If it gets cancelled I'll just transfer it to a trackday in England. The hotel isn't a problem to us.

The way things are changing then in 5 weeks time travelling into Wales could be fine and also maybe hotels will be open again.
I understand also that a dragon was seen recently flying over Cardiff,

I do hope so Chris
Can’t carry on with the queues in castle Combe
We are booked in on 26th
They are putting 20 on circuit with 80 cars attending . Bit of greed creeping in I think

Hmm! Simplistically that’s an hours queuing for last 20 if everyone joins the queue initially.
They should not operate on an open pit lane basis but on 20 minute sessions. Plus if a session is red flagged on the first lap those cars should be routed to parallel queue and go out first when the circuit is cleared. I had two red flag sessions, one on a first lap when the Capri broke, the other when a Westfield stopped at the chicane after quarry and then he followed me into the pits and I was about 20th 20th back in the queue again!!! Should have been a yellow really

They just shouldn't sell 80 places. Ticket prices are going up every year, way more than the costs possibly can be. At the same time demand has never been higher, over the last year almost every event in the country would sell out.

They're just taking the pi$$ and it's not safe. If drivers know they're going to get bugger all track time then some are blatantly going to feel the need to drive beyond their limit to make the most of it when they do get a turn.

Yeah a reasonable ratio should allow for at least a third of the cars to be on track at any one time, without overcrowding the circuit.

On smaller tracks this seems to be a much bigger problem. Every time that I've visited Mallory Park, there have always been too many cars on track and it's been impossible to do a clean uninterrupted lap until the last hour of the day.

I've only driven Coombe once at last year's AGM private track day (which was bliss), but imagine 20 being enough cars on that circuit. I'm sure they could still make a decent profit selling 60 places at the prices I've been seeing for these days.

Chris
Exactly that , they are being greedy
When I first booked , before booking the day we went the only available slot was 26th
Now they have all opened up .
It seems to start it was 60
Now 80 ..........
just a note
The Phoenix day itinerary did say 20 cars too
Should we shout up ?
I think so
Don’t forget we were 25 deep in the queue after lunch ..........,,,,,,

Ha ha
I remember Mallory when you were there , it’s a small circuit and they let everyone out .
Basically if a Saxo and Clio wouldn’t pull over you’d be stuck there for ages
No clean laps ever .......

If the TDOs were clear regarding the format of the day sessions or open pit lane and the number of cars they were booking then at least we would know what to expect.

Anyway back on Pembrey  , from what I could gather last night it's the Welsh Assembly that are happy to keep Wales shut to the outside world and happy to destroy their tourist industry in the process :(

If this gets cancelled then we will all get Credit to use either this year or 2021 =D>
