***TRACKDAY Oulton Park - Friday 13th November SOLD OUT***

Post by GreySilver Beast » Wed Oct 21, 2020 7:13 pm

Nick has confirmed those who booked garages will be placed next to each other, so at least we can all enjoy the day together =D>

I will have Water and Crisps in my garage for you to come and help yourselves too during the day :thumleft:

Would also recommend bringing your camping chairs for something to sit on, as the Restaurant Cafe will be takeaway only :!:

At the moment Cheshire is Tier2 (High) , but maybe Tier3 (Very High) by the time we get to this trackday though

Would that mean that us low risk types can still attend but people living near the track wouldn't be allowed?

If so I'm tempted to book some Northern track days on the hope of having the place mostly to myself

After asking the question I Received this from Nick today, as all these restrictions may hamper my ability to attend this, if mr Drakeford has anything to do with it...........he’s already made me cancel next week away in the cotswolds and a weekend at the Celtic Manor 3 times hopefully not this as well.

Dear Neil,

As you will appreciate this is a very fluid situation. However I have spoken to MSV and there is no requirement at the moment for the venues to close. They are Covid Secure venues as well.

As for restrictions on travel. It is very difficult for me to advise here. While I treat Covid-19 seriously, currently the Oulton Park event is fully paid for. So unless MSV have a reason to close the venue the days is going ahead. Effectively the money that people have paid to come has been spent and we will not get it back. Our understanding of the current legislation is that it is not for us as event hosts or MSV as even venue to police any travel plans of guests. My very great predicament is that if I ask people from certain tiers not to attend then I then accept the responsibility to refund customers. In particular tiers can change swiftly.

I am happy in both the procedures MSV have put in place at their venues and also in our own Covid risk assessment procedures that we meet guidance and recommendations on “Hands, Face, Space” and so believe the event is OK to continue.

Regards

Neil, I was at Blyton Park last weekend and must say Nick and his team ran a very tight safe ship there and have no reason to think anything will be any different at Oulton Park =D> =D> =D> =D>

Hmm! I see on Facebook that for the Open Track day at Silverstone Dave is advising people of the Silverstone circuits policy that people in Tier 3 areas should not to attend, driving license addresses will be checked and if in a Tier 3 area entry will be refused. Silverstone is apparently a designated Covid free area and tightly policed.

Yes Nigel
It’s not the organiser it’s the f#*<ing governments.
I was asking if the restrictions stop me travelling would there be the opportunity to get credit on the booking.
As long as the welsh government lifts its fire brake lockdown and don’t add any other travel restrictions I should be ok.

Dave at OpenTrack is refunding his clients if they can't come because of the Tier System =D> , however MOT, Javelin and other track companies are only giving Credit towards next years trackdays instead :(

This is going to evolve rapidly. Within a matter of weeks I imagine much of the country will be in the top two tiers and trackdays will start becoming unviable under the current arrangements if too many people aren't allowed to attend.

Hopefully most of us will make it to Oulton, but I'd be less confident about the December ones :(

What did you ask ?
Surely you’d have been better waiting until you were told you couldn’t attend by the TDO ?
