Latest statement from Mazda on Track:

"As the latest government advice of Stay Alert, Control the Virus, Save Lives comes fully into force today, we would like to clarify MOT Trackdays current position.

The Prime minister’s speech on Sunday has been widely commented on as leaving a degree of interpretation as to the full meaning. However later briefings talking about the application of Common Sense and government guidelines published later have somewhat clarified that.

Despite the confusion and much speculation on Social Media the main spirit of the guidelines has not changed that much. The relaxation of rules around exercise and travel is mainly in line with the ability of the vast majority of the UK being able to follow the guidance sensibly. However it is clear to us that providing a track event currently would not fall under the banner of “Staying Alert to the danger of the virus” and “applying a common sense approach” to ensuring transmission rates do not rise. Equally a gathering at a circuit would not fall under the banner of essential travel or that of travel for exercise, even if everyone walked round the track first, and that it would certainly not fall in line with the guidance about sport being able to be undertaken with other members of the same household and with, appropriate social distancing, with one additional person. It also would contravene the directive that visiting private or ticketed attractions is still prohibited. As such and until further guidance is issued, MOT Trackdays events remain suspended."

Note that Blyton Park is mainly a test circuit and most of their business comes from private bookings for companies/teams doing development work.

This may be containable within the guidelines.

OFFICE REMAINS CLOSED BUT MSVT EVENTS TO RESUME FROM MONDAY 1 JUNE

Good news – it’s been confirmed that trackdays will resume at all MSV venues (Brands Hatch, Donington Park, Oulton Park, Snetterton, Cadwell Park and Bedford Autodrome) later this month.

MSVT’s first operational date will actually be Monday 1 June, and there will be new measures in place to maintain social distancing, in accordance with government guidelines. Details of these new procedures will be on our website soon.

Our office is still closed, but we will start to re-open phone lines from this Monday (18 May) with significantly reduced staff numbers, working remotely from home. We anticipate a large number of enquiries so please only contact us if you have an urgent query. All bookings can be made online via the MSVT website.

12-month credits for MSVT track days due to take place before 1 June will be issued automatically and you will be notified by email once this has been completed. We have a considerable backlog to process so there may be a delay of up to two weeks. Please note: you can rebook using credits online via our website; there is no need to telephone.

Thanks for your support, patience and understanding and we look forward to seeing you on track again very soon!

For more detailed information please see www.msvtrackdays.com

Has anyone heard anything from Javelin about their MSV track dates? Javelin are listing Snetterton on Thursday 4th June and if it's on then I need to book asap so that my wife can cancel her patient bookings to look after the kids.

MSV said that 3rd party trackdays are also on from the 26th May... but Javelin haven't mentioned that. Javelin's site only says that they won't start until the 2nd June at the earliest.

All the MSV Snetterton dates are now Wednesdays for the summer... which is the one day I absolutely can't do. So it's the 4th or bust  :censored:

Since track days went live yesterday it has been very busy. In fact it's been the busiest day ever .... apart from Boxing day :-) As you all know there will be new rules and regulations in place on any track days for the foreseeable future. ** If you have had a day cancelled so far due to Corona Virus you would off had a email with Instructions on how to re book. Please check your spam you have to follow the instructions and use the opentrackcredits@gmail.com email address. ** This is the only way to re book a day. I will not accept re bookings via Txt Message, Facebook messenger, Skype, Instagram message, Facebook pages or phone calls.
Here are some answers to a few of the questions I have been asked today.

Q I can't see a date on your website is it for sale ?
A No it's sold out or not on at the moment .
Q Can I book on the website ?
A Yes feel free to book.
Q Is the cafe open at the track ?
A No, some may have a burger van but bring a picnic incase
Q Can my mates come and watch me ?
A No spectators allowed
Q Can I have a mechanic with me ?
A Yes but he has to keep his distance from you.
Q Has the circuit given you permission to go ahead ?
A Yes everything has been cleared with the circuits.
Q Will I be okay to drive to the track with a trailer ?
A I don't see why not.
Q How will I know what garage I am in ?
A It will have your name on like In the old days.
Q Will we have fuel at the circuit ?
A Maybe but it will be 8 weeks old.
Q I sent a email 5 minutes ago and you have not answered ?
A Sorry It's just me in the office I am going as fast as I can.
Q Can I still get free tuition ?
A Instructors can not go in a car with you at the moment .
Q I sent a email yesterday and you have not answered ?
A I still have 362 on my desk to open
Q I am in a race team can I share a car with another driver ?
A Yes but you both must stick to social distance and your team has to "clean" the car before you sit in.
Q I am in a race team and usually have 3 mechanics is that OK ?
A Sorry you can't come then.

So please 🧐 if you could bear with me a little that would be great, and I will get to you as soon as possible.
Many thanks.
Dave.

I just booked at Abingdon on 19th June with Track Days https://www.trackdays.co.uk/track-days/ as I received a voucher for my birthday. Should be fun judging by this video. Loads of run off space if required!
