Open(to all)track has a checkered history with some of us due to over crowding and poor on the day session management. Nowhere near professional compared to Javelin and Mazda on Track.

I will never book on an Opentrack trackday ever again. Having had previous issues with them, I foolishly gave them another chance at Silverstone about 2 years ago. It was massively overbooked, leading to huge waits of 30 mins to get on track for a few laps before all too frequent red flags and back to another 30 min wait. Track etiquette was also some of the worst I've experienced. A BMW almost took me out by unexpectedly overtaking on the wrong side, in wet and poor visibiliy conditions. Recent Facebook reports of similar issues of an Opentrack event at Anglesey didn't surprise me.

Never had problems with Javelin, Mazda on Track or Circuitdays.

Good to know, thanks all.

Anyone with experience of MSV-T? Assuming the standards should be pretty decent with them as they are track owner as well as TDO.

Currently looking at doing:
April - Silverstone GP (after November was cancelled). Anyone else up for this?

- Oulton Park
- Cadwell Park

****TRACKDAYS for the Year****

Post by GreySilver Beast » Tue Dec 08, 2020 11:16 pm

There is nothing wrong with using MSV-T =D> =D> =D> =D>

@Bill : Post up trackdays you have booked and others will follow, plus the trackday would be added to the first post of this topic :thumleft:

Just a reminder to all of you that you currently get 5% Discount when booking trackdays with Javelin :thumleft:

It's one of your many perks being a paid up member of the RX-8OC so use it =D> =D> =D> =D>

Opentrack has now been removed off the first post, as the club no longer supports this track operator, due to pass issues with them :!:

Lets try and be even more active next year :thumright:

Yes really looking forward to it.
It came about from a bit of bad news. My cousin mainly lives out in Singapore and we do not hear from him all that often. However his sister rang me to let me know their dad (my uncle) had passed away after a long fight with various ailments, 92 so did ok.
Anyway I offered to help with some of the arrangements and then the following day I get a call from my cousin thanking me for helping out and saying we would meet up at the funeral on the 30th December. He went on to mention about his plans for next year and we got onto the subject of Trackdays as I know he goes on a lot mainly in the US but he mentioned about Spa on 19th/20th March as he is planning to test out some new toy he has. It wasn’t until I checked on here that I realised it was the same dates as club members were going!
Anyway went back to him to say I would be there and that is when he made this amazing offer to lend me one of his rather special cars.
This and the funeral will be the first times we have met up in five years so although the sadness of uncle passing away is there it will have a ray of sunshine to follow.
