^^^TRACKDAY, Snetterton - 7th October MSVT^^^SOLD OUT

Post by New Duke » Tue Sep 24, 2019 10:20 pm

I'm going to do one of these dates and am currently leaving it late to book as the weather is changeable at the moment. But if anyone else wants to join then I'd happily pick one and book.

It's £159 with MSVT but I have a promotional code I can share that brings it down to £143.10.

So shout out if you can do either day, otherwise I'll keep weather watching and make a last minute decision.

Plenty of room for newcomers to trackdays too, we do our very best to look after everyone and show you the ropes. Light refreshment services also included for free in our garages. If you've not driven an RX-8 on track before, you should try it at least once during your ownership!

If you'd like to stay for a meal afterwards (and avoid the rush hour traffic!) we usually book a table at this pub A lovely, cosy place that does good food, less than 10 minutes from the track on the way back down the A11 (where most people will be heading). Simple let us know and we can book a suitably sized table.

First timers may benefit from browsing through this section of the forum:
Trackday Info and FAQ's
and this topic, specific to Snetterton:
Snetterton Guide

Noise limit is 105dB(A) static and 92dB(A) drive-by.

Address
Snetterton Circuit
Norwich
NR16 2JU

For those unfamiliar with Snetterton, here's some in-car 2015 footage of what it looks like to drive :D

Nice one Haydn - I had both of these in my diary as possibles ;)

Can't do the 1st now but MAY (not sure at the moment) be able to do the 7th :D

I have stickied this topic as the event date is soon.

It would be wonderful to have you there if you can make it Malcolm.

I'll hold off picking a day until you know your availability. If you can do the 7th then I'll be very happy to book that day. If you can't then no worries and I'll keep the date open.

Won't be able to confirm 7th until Monday morning (30/9), which isn't much help if you are considering the 1/10 date :(

Both track days are showing (light) rain all day, so not much to choose between them on that basis!

Haydn, don't be swayed by my (lack of) decision, as I might not be able to make 7th. Go with what suits you best.

:censored: :censored: :censored:

I have a work (cocktail) meeting now on the 1st so just went to book the 7th and it's now sold out :x

Tad frustrating as there were spaces left when I checked yesterday. Am going to look for an alternative track day but I really wanted to do Snetterton again before winter closes in. It's the fastest track in a wide radius and I miss the Bentley Straight.

Grumble.

Re: ^^^TRACKDAY, Snetterton - 7th October MSVT^^^SOLD OUT

Post by New Duke » Sun Sep 29, 2019 10:51 pm

I like Bedford. I just don't think it's worth £150 minus garage (garages are sold out anyway). £100 or less I think would be a fair price. I put it in the same lower tier of circuits as Blyton. Which I'd in turn put above airfields like Kendrew and Woodbridge which should be about £70 a day.

One of the reasons I like Snetterton is that it has all the things that I like about top-tier circuits like Brands GP and Silverstone, such as proper garage facilities, wide tarmac with a consistent surface and a long straight, without the ridiculous session price that Brands GP and Silverstone cost.

All other tracks (that I can drive to and home from in a day) are overpriced and I can't support that. Snetterton feels about right though.

Sorry, am still annoyed and rambling. I'll think about Bedford again tomorrow. It may be my last chance to track the car this year so might be happy to do it after some sleep.

Bedford would a good first track for you NeMFO, don't let me put you off. The road surface changes a couple of times which can be tricky if it's wet, but other than that it's a fine track. I've just been spoiled with Snetterton.

The forecast for Monday has improved so I've just booked Bedford. Will start a new thread to avoid confusion.
