Finally caught up with the posts in this thread. :D

Two observations.

Firstly, what a compelling way to encourage more female drivers, some very good points. Though I have to say my sister in law certainly doesn't suffer from those issues, but then she is an Aussie..

Secondly, we shouldn't encourage Nigel. ;)

And much as I'd like to see the McLaren, I'm also looking forward to seeing what Ranjan can extract from his 8. 8)

Well, Rotary Revs say they have fixed the overheating and done the rolling road so she is good to go on any track day..... I am flying back on Tuesday to pick her up.
Going to give it a good test run before I pay up just to be sure.

Wish me luck as so far the car has cost me over £8000 and I have had one track day out of her

That’s ridiculous , I think you need to find a local dyno and hire it for at least half day . Unless there’s a local track or testing day you could use ....
I think many others would have been much less patient in accepting something that’s just simply not fit for the job .
I wish you good luck

Ouch, ouch, ouch! I don’t suppose by any stretch of ones imagination that they have informed you what the cause of the overheating was.
Anyway most importantly you are getting your car back in time to test it properly before Mallory in November and put your RX8 track nemesis to bed!

Chris,

They have pressure tested the system, replaced the water pump and housing, replaced the radiator and shroud.
The reason I am skeptical is that BigPete had already done all that and it made not a jot of difference; hence the testing when I get there on Tuesday; I live in hope. If I fly a round trip of 11,000 miles to find it is still overheating I am NOT going to be best pleased.

According to my mate, who's a plumber, red cars always run hotter than blue cars.

Apparently, yellow cars take a lot of gas... #-o

Well, my faith in human nature and Rotary Revs is now fully restored; they really took the time to properly sort it out. The overheating was a result of several things going wrong or being broken and they meticulously went through and repaired them all.

I gave the car a good thrashing on the way back to the airport and the temp never went above 95 centigrade even when I gave it 3 miles at 120mph (private road obviously).

I am so impressed, that I have booked the car in, late December to have a whole host of other things done or fitted to make it more track friendly.

I just have to now ensure that I can definitely make it for 9th as that date is clashing with a Hong Kong project that needs my attention.

One happy bunny :beers: :race: :yeah:

Don’t go to Hong Kong they are rioting and stuff.
Come to Mallory and we can have our own riot in a very dignified British way.
