I thought the locals had big problems with Mallory, even in its current form. I can't see them liking this proposal...... :(

Quick one to say I haven't had a chance to advertise the Boxster S, so seeing as I will still have it by Thursday I have just booked this! Still need to sort out getting my RX8 rebuilt too!

Always got plenty of thread Chris, and I would be more than happy to do this for you if Ranjan is busy on the day driving his new RX8!

Ricky,

Put a deposit down on one; arriving in UK on 8th to pick it up and drive it down to Mallory. Hope everything works out, might have you guys check it over.
Also, come and share the car with me for the day as an additional driver.

Ranjan.
Ah no way! Will this be track ready if you're only picking it up 1 day before !?!?! Why not get one from one of the Rotary Specialist, they can make sure it's all ready to go on track before you arrive? but yea more than happy to have a go in yours, I really miss doing trackdays in RX8's, I need to get mine back on the road ASAP. But what happened to coming down the the ATOM?

At the very least I can lend you a trolley jack and an impact gun Nigel. At the start of every track day I'm always in a mad rush to swap my track wheels on, fit towing eyes, check fluids etc, but if no one has helped you out by the time I've managed all of that, then I'll do it for you.

Ricky,

Most circuits realise that some drifting will happen and so are somewhat forgiving if it is not abused too much; Mallory Park IS NOT ONE OF THEM!!
This circuit is famous for having the most anti-motorsport neighbours in the country and they have infiltrated the Council. They have placed their own noise metering equipment on track so the results go straight to Council offices and if they deem the noise too high they have the power to end the meeting immediately!
So the operators are fearful of a financial headache having to refund money for a cancelled trackday because of some drifting junkies on track. Hence, they will send you home pretty sharpish if you do it intentionally.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Ranjan.

We are all paid up :thumleft:
I have a set of four S1 standard 18” wheels with some old 595 semi slicks on which would still do a full day as there borderline road legal tread. £80 if anyone wants.

Good to hear you and Paula will be joining us Pete :thumleft:

Well, the forecast looks good with full sun and a bit cooler at 20 degrees, with light winds 8)

I've not done any thinking about this trackday until now! It's been a hectic last 10 days, so only now starting to think what I need to do tomorrow.

Who else is staying at the Premier Inn at Hinckley? I will probably get there late evening, so might see anyone there in the bar before turning in.

Chris - you're bringing the Gazebo I think? I'll bring a table and the two Club Stoves (but I've got no gas canisters...). Another table would be handy. I'll bring some water, milk tea, coffee and a few mugs. I'll get some soft drinks tomorrow if no-one else has any to bring along (Nigel? Stuff left from Beaulieu maybe?).

Ian, great to see you are joining us, if only for passenger rides, etc :thumleft: Are you able to bring any Club gear up; mugs, gas, or....?

Sorry it's a bit last minute on this one

As we'll all be busy with our cars I wasn't suggesting we go that far. Cooking at a static show is OK, but I suggest we keep this one to hot/cold drinks and maybe a few cold snacks. The onsite catering will be open.

On the other hand Wayne, if you are volunteering to bring all the cooking kit, food and be chef for the morning..... ;)

No problem Devon, you are welcome to some passenger rides (If you bring/hire a helmet and pay the all-day passenger fee, £10 I think?), plus lurk around our gazebo ;)

Seeing the facilities are quite good at Mallory, I wasn't planning on bringing anything to this track day apart from Bottles of Water and Cans of Coke :!:

I will have Pete's Lockwood Grills with me across the backseat as they are in a big long box :!:

A word of warning from past experience at Mallory make sure you got the means to tie down the Gazebo as they tend to take off otherwise as it's surprisingly windy at this Circuit Image

AdamGaltress and I found out the hard way when Ranjan joined us for a few hours when we were there a few years ago Image

On another note Fuel is available on site although it's not cheap and you can pay by Credit Card as they put those Transactions over the phone in the Control Tower :thumleft:

Also as the paddock is infield and access is round the track getting in out needs to be timed well! Devon if you PM me your number I will text you when they plan to have access but it's possibly only going to be first thing and then lunchtime at a guess.
