Re: ^^^TRACKDAY Brands Hatch, Friday 7 Dec £149^^^
Right, I'll book this as soon as my expenses are paid. Expecting at least one lump of them next Monday, so that's when it's getting booked. Any chance Nick would be willing to reserve a place for me until then?

You only realise what a great Club this is when the likes of an occasional RX8 owner offers to share his car with you after only a relative casual aquaintance. Thanks Ranjan you are a gent . Just hope you have cured the fuel consumption issue you had on the journey over , or my drives of the car are going to be to get fuel .
Now a distant memory unfortunately.

Re: ^^^TRACKDAY Brands Hatch, Friday 7 Dec £149^^^
Ray,
It is going to be so much fun sharing the day with you; track days for me are much more about the social side than the driving which to be honest can get a bit boring.
You can sort a dilemma out for me; I have two sets of track tyres ready for Brands: Nankang NS2R and AR1s; which do you fancy?
AR1: 3 seconds a lap quicker at Brands Indy than NS2R but useless in damp, cold conditions
NS2R: Better in rain and cold than AR1
Which do you want to use?
Ranjan.

@ Ranjan.
No experience of either tyre, but in December and with the likelihood of both rain and the cold I would respectfully suggest the NS2R's . Also with the AR1's I might just be tempted to lap the 3 seconds quicker that you are be able to attain with dire consequences .

Thanks Malcolm, I'll remember this for next time.
It's my first OPL day so really looking forward to it! Anything different that I should know or bring with me vs the individual sessions at Tunerfest etc?

Re: ^^^TRACKDAY Brands Hatch, Friday 7 Dec £149^^^
Hi Bill - an OPL is going to put more stress and strain on your car (and yourself!) than a single session. Limit yourself to 15-20 minute sessions max, with at least the same time for you and the car to cool off.
Bring spare oil, spare front brake pads (and rear if very low). We'll have all the tools you need to change pads if needed. Spare coolant would be good, but most likely not needed, especially in December.
Have you had a good look here?
viewforum.php?f=169
These in particular:
viewtopic.php?f=169&t=61972
viewtopic.php?f=169&t=61939
viewtopic.php?f=169&t=58388
Most of it is probably stuff you can skip read, but if any remaining questions, ask away
