Firstly as has been pointed out I made an error when I announced that voting was open. Voting will end on Tuesday 30th September, not Tuesday 20th. Minor typo but one i missed so I apologise for any confusion
Secondly the 'right' to vote. Previous committees...
Following on from the polling of the membership this year's Annual Meet will be an extension of the already planned Snowdonia drive, hotel meal and optional Anglesey track day!
This year's AM is a one day Snowdonia drive, following the similar route to past...

i had a look around and could not find anything like this...
i have seen sim kind of threads on other car forums i have been a member of,
it makes for intresting reading once going to see what people have done each day.
so i thought i would start this thread to see what people have done to there...
OK maybe time to start some sort of record for the special editions so to start lets see what sort of list we can build so please add your details: then the usual copy and paste.
IF KNOWN INCLUDE THE BUILD NUMBER.
Well, I finally did it and wasn't even trying!!
Nice long trip from Leeds to Chichester, mostly cruising at 85 but still having fun at every roundabout I came across!
Original 300 mile thread seems to have dropped off so started another
Mod bit - title edited, this thread predates the R3 by a...
I've seen a lot of chat on here about the cars people owned in the past and others they own now. As a relatively young driver i think i've had more than my fair share of cars and recently i seem to follow a pattern in buying- practical to sporty to practical and so on.....
After reading this in another thread I thought I would just post to say that all is going well with my RX.

Overslept after long weekend out and so the roads were clear on my hasty drive into work, a weekend of not driving made it seem even more lively.
As many members help one another I thought it would be nice to have a post where you can say thankyou to each other. I have been in many car clubs and can honestly say this forum is the most informative and friendly one I have come across. :thumleft: so firstly thanks to everyone who I...
The attached spreadsheet shows the total number of UK RX-8s registered and SORNed, broken down by model and year.
RX-8_UK_Numbers.xlsx
The headlines are:
- 24,730 individual cars have been registered between 2003 and 2018
- 13,289 still exist
- 8,092 are still on the road
- 11,440 are missing,...
Hi all, unfortunately my Nemesis failed its MOT on Friday due to rotten sills. I've spent the weekend reading threads and contemplating. I don't want to see it go to the scrap heap. I'm not afraid of putting reasonable money into it, I expected to do that when I brought it anyway. That said though,...
I finally had a prototype board running in RX yesterday - figuratively speaking as more running on the seat\console
but A|C controls, Hazards, Dimming all properly plugged in and functioning with standard OEM wiring harness(es).
I still need to update the code to allow for recovery from low...
So, what could go wrong with an annual service on a 15 yr old Mazda 6 diesel? The family wagon.
Well it could be picked up, driven and you could notice the smell of fuel/oil coming through the air vents when sat in traffic and think nothing of it for a couple of days.
As it got worse, you could...
Just wanted to pop a quick post up as I’ve not been very active on here the last couple weeks!
First of all, apologies from me, I have been moving house, and therefore not been overly active, however, I’m now almost settled, so should be back and active again over the next few days!...
I saw some PZ sports mirrors going up for sale on FB marketplace. I checked the parts catalog, the parts number seem to match, but if anyone could confirm S1 mirrors would fit an R3 that would be appreciated.
I remember seeing a blue (purpleish?) RX8 with a large rear spoiler and yellow wheels in 2021 (I think) at Brandshatch on a track day.
It sounded great and was going well.
I spoke with the owner who was having some health issues so was thinking of selling.
I believe he told me it was Peripheral...
These pumps are getting old now and it's difficult to find one that hasn't got worn bearing etc. they make alot of noise. That is Bosch Part No. 0580000027.
I wanted to source a new replacement but was told by multiple Mazda dealerships it is obsolete. I wrote to Mazda UK who confirmed it is no...
My coolant light has been turning on and off for a while which happened before I previously got the coolant tank replaced (something about a known issue with it expanding due to heat). I decided to top up the coolant because it looked slightly low from the top. I did it again tonight and I heard...
My 2004 192 came up with a CEL with code P0610-FF - PCM (Powertrain Control Module) - Control Module Vehicle Options Error. This was in the Spring and after a dud battery and limited use during the Winter. I looked up the code and couldn't find anything RX specific although a couple of...
For context, I was changing my differential oil today (as one does) and something just kind of... fell off the exhaust while I was trying to get to the refill hole with my breaker bar. The piece has rusted so bad it's pretty much disintegrated, but I have...
Hi all driving back from Manchester 5 mins from home the engine cut out at 40mph wouldn't bump start but started with the key before coasting to a stop but ran rough and didn't like ticking over, and now I have a VERY rattly auxiliary valve ssv anyone have any ideas, drove up to Salisbury to see...
I purchased my 2007 RX8 from a friend, and she says she is never premixed the engine. She did get the Mazda warranty rebuild at approximately $55,000 mi though she said.
The idea of pre-mixing intimidates me, but I'm wondering if it's worth the learning curve at this stage.
An unfamiliar noise has become apparent on my S1, I noticed it when putting the engine under load between about 2k and 3k rpm. It is slightly tinny and, at first, made me think of sucking foam through a straw so I thought about something on the intake, but it disappears after 3.5/4k rpm so now I...
My r3 has a slight flat spot once I hit 8000, I’ve changed the coils for rrp ones, new plugs, cleaned the maf and ESS, ssv actuates freely by hand also
Car has a decat and Odula intake
Any other ideas of what it could be
Long time lurker, first post here so apologies if I've put this in the wrong section!
I own an R3 and am having some trouble locating OEM suspension components to replace my aging parts, specifically the shocks and coils. I don't want to stray from OEM as I want to stay stock, but...
Hello fellow forum users
You may not be aware but there is currently an election for chairman of our club ( in the members area )
If anyone wants to renew their membership, partner membership or indeed join the club to have their say in how it is run
NOW IS THE TIME TO DO SO
The election I believe...
I added 25mm spacers to my car not too long ago and the front ones are perfect, however the rear spacers were rubbing so had to come off.
The issue is… I don’t know where it’s rubbing! It’s not a constant sound but occurs when going over small dips in the road or just inconsistencies. It sounds...
Hi all,
So i carried out a compression test on my R3 today using a compression tester I bought on ebay (I know, says it all but I just wanted a reference and the reviews were positive.)
Anyway, I ran the car to temperature by taking it for a 20 minute drive, parked up, jacked up, removed passenger...
Just having a look on Autotrader and R3 prices are sky high just now.
I know they are 'asking' prices, but I was still shocked.
2009 33.1k miles £11k Black - Cat D
2009 86.6k miles £9.988 - Blue - 1 of 19 Worldwide?
2009 69k miles £8.99k Silver
2010 103.5k miles £7.5k Red - Cat S
My RX8 has axel spacers fitted, they were on when I got it and it gives it a nice slightly wider looking stance I guess.
But I do feel that at high speed the steering seems really twitchy, I was up at 135mph the other day and couldn’t go faster because I had to have two hands firmly...
Hi guys, I’ve just got an rx8 and it has had a few mods done by previous owner.
It’s been remapped and had pops and bangs added, the car has stainless exhaust manifold, it’s been de-catted and it’s running a sports exhaust and has had o2 sensor delete.
This may sound a bit strange coming from an RX-8 owner after owning 4 over 21 years but I don`t drive my 40th Anniversary as much as I used to since taking ownership of my Cupra but when I do take the RX-8 out the steering feels noticeably heavier than the Cupra and I am fully aware of possible...
My car has been off the road for almost two months whilst I replaced all the hoses for silicone ones, fitted new RRP pulleys, and a new AEM style intake, I also ran a cable to the boot for a future battery relocation. And treated the underbody with Lanoguard.
During all this the battery was on...
I'm looking to get some trackday focussed tyres but there doesn't seem to be many readily available options out there that will fit the OEM wheels (225 45 R18).
I can only seem to reliably find Nankangs that do that size but again finding them at a reasonable price from a reputable seller isn't...
There's a fuels smell when I first start the car, the check engine light had been on for a day or two, but went away on its own. Today it started to make these scraping and warbling sounds. :paranoid:
Here's the sounds

I'm an aspiring mechanic, but that can be difficult while navigating my autism. I'm enthusiastic about learning, but it can be challenging for me even with videos. I know I'm going to overexplain because I'm really scared I'll leave something important out. Please be kind, I already feel really...
Just spent a week in the french Alps, today I crossed the border into Italy via a massive hole through mont blanc!
And I'm not exaggerating,, what felt like at least 30 tunnels.
Perfect for the brappers
Cannot remember my username here, but I am back after many years. I don't have an RX8 at the moment but interested again. When I owned one I was in my 20s. I bought it from new. I've used several cars since, my fav has been a BMW 320D which has 184BHP and does 70MPG on the motorway, a slight...
Looking at a battery car jack (greenworks) from machine mart anyone got a discount code for them or other recommendations, after buying a lightweight trolley jack a little while ago trying to operate the handle is a no go as my lungs are saying no
