So I just looked up the above for the RX8 Nemesis. Does that mean there were only every 331 Nemesis in the UK and NI. Further more looks like there are only 95 left on the road!! We own one of them and one of the sorn'd ones.
After having a regas done with no leaks detected but a noisy compressor, it seems I may need to replace it.
The AC blows cold only when the revs are high, but the compressor is working (noisily). I beleive it was run without oil and low gas for some time, for whatever reason the safety...
As most of you guys may know our cars require a FL22 antifreeze type.
The FL22 antifreeze is low on phospates and does not contain silicates in order to protect and inhibit corossion on the aluminum parts of our engine.
Unfortunately when you go at a motor factors shop and ask for FL22 coolant you...
I’m looking to get my 8 undersealed / rustproofed.
I welcome everyone opinions, but anyone that has had this done already, I’d be interested what product / service was used, and how well the procedure coped / lasted over time.
Thought I'd clean my K&N panel filter. The current Cosworth one is dirty (and discontinued) and I've had trouble getting a Mazda filter due to a recent change in the local dealership franchise. So thought I might try the K&N again for a bit.
Bought it new 2 or 3 years ago, used it for a year, then...
It’s well known enough that RX8’s have had cases of bad PS harnesses, as well as ball joints and racks going bad.
My RX8 steers as normal to the left, but is a lot harder to the right. It isn’t lumpy as such, but on some days it is a lot lighter to steer than others. I’ve tried cleaning the...
It's been manageable for the last few months but today it got quite bad. Was stationary, and when I went to change gear the clutch pedal went stiff, and then got softer again.
Whenever the pedal is up it whines quite loudly, as soon as I disengage the clutch it stops, and I may as well mention...
As some of you may have seen in another topic I have had some running issues of late. I was over at RRP yesterday benching the coils and talking to Scott at length. He reckons that it could have spun a bearing or if nothing else the mileage and discrepancy across some faces combined and overall not...
Hoping your luck changes for the better after the sale of this car
Also, try posting this advert on the French RX8 owners page, you will have much more interest and maybe a better price.
If you need a translator Mark is your man.
Hi All,
So I got a P0037 code that's persisting even after clearing, each time I startup.
I do some research and it's a rear O2 sensor. Fair nuff.
So I get on AutoDoc and there's plenty for a very reasonable price, around £26. But will any lamda sensor do? And they come with some very varied cable...
After purchasing my rx8 around Christmas time I thought it was finally time to deal with the non-functional CL. After faffing around with fuses and all the usual checks it turns out the Key-less control module under the glove-box is kaput. So my question is can I just change out the module? Or is...
I had another track day at Brands today. The R3 ran perfectly for a couple of hours, before I experienced a loss of power. I was down to a quarter of a tank of fuel, so thought it could have gone into limp mode due to petrol sloshing around in the tank. I’d also heard of RX-8 fuel pumps overheating...
Does anyone have experience with a BluePrint S2 filter? Seems to tot up with the OEM number of N3R1-14-302 which is the S2 original filter, but all comparison/model tables list it as a filter for 03-12, which it's gotta be either one or the other hasn't it? :-k
Hi all. I'm a newbie so I apologise if I'm posting in the wrong place. I've got a 40th Anniversary Met Grey RX8 which is great but recently the Engine Management Warning Light has come on. The car has a misfire anyway and I've changed coils, plugs and leads, tightened and cleaned battery terminals,...
Last year was another great year for Le Mans. Technically we are still in the same season as Le Mans has switched from being the 2nd race of the year to being the last. As it is worth double points it creates more tension in the series and push the teams competing. This means this years Le Mans is...
Has anyone successfully changed the RX-8 HID D2S setup to LED bulbs that are an improvement over the HID`s I assume technology has moved on since I last played with H7 LED bulbs in my Kuga several years ago and found they were useless, bright but no power ad having had a Karoq and now a Cupra with...
Has anyone successfully used these Switchback LED's to replace the front indicator bulbs?
They come with a pre-wired resistor each, and operate as DRL's with the ignition on, but switch to indicators when needed, then switch back to DRL.
I've fitted almost identical ones to my 2011 Toyota Aygo 6...
Hello there, I work for a Mini Breakers in Bury called Mintech. I managed to sneak an RX8 in for breaking which has rotten inner and outer sills and supposedly was a non runner.
It has only covered 52'000 miles.
When I received the car there was no ignition system fitted at all, so I took my old...
Looking to upgrade the anti-roll bars on my 2006 PZ. Not sure whether I should go for the Racing Beats or Whiteline Performance or if I need the front or rear ones? I just want to reduce body roll when going around corners. Can the R3 anti-roll bars be fitted on the PZ and will it make a...
Hi, I got a track car which doesn't have front indicators and I need to add them. Any idea what type of screw/bolt I need which holds the front indicators on?
I'll show you what I mean if I can work out how to attach a photo..
After some guidance from R3 owners (past or present) that lowered their 8 on coilovers versus the OEM Bilstein setup.
My 8 was running standard shocks and springs, I recently replaced the springs with eibach pro springs all round. It did lower a little over standard height but doesn't really hit...
Pretty certain I've got a stuck open injector as if I leave the key in position 2 with the fuel pump running (engine off) for an amount of time. The car starts like it is flooded and struggles to idle for a bit and it misfires until it clears
Hi there, got a dodgy D585 coil and need either one or a whole set. I have heard that a member called Nuttys RX8 may sell them? Or is there any other place I can get one. Many thanks,
Ricky

After last weeks fuel pressure adventure
I took apart the regular pump that came out and started looking at fitting the Dw pump I had
Interestingly the DW65 pump is quite a bit shorter than the original?
Any others running this pump?
My passenger side external door handle is noticeably more rattly and loose than the drivers side. The drivers side is nice and tight as expected.
It works perfectly fine and isn't horrendously bad, but I would like to sort it.
Doesn't appear to have any damage or anything.
Can it be tightened up...
Hi guys, I was wondering if I could have some help diagnosing a starting issue with my RX8. I've had a look at a bunch of past threads, but I'm struggling to determine whether it's primarily a starting compression issue or an ignition spark problem.
Good evening ladies and gentlemen.
I am thinking to fit an F1 style brake light in the housing of the rear foglight.
Why?
Because i think it's cool😊
Here comes the question:
I plan to connect it at one of the either left or light brake bulb feeds.
I know these are not canbus or resistance sensitive...
Hi
Does anyone know where I could get one of these ? Mx5parts is saying 4 weeks wait
Accidentally attached the negative before positive and now the car has no central locking, radio and the needles do a full sweep when the ignition turns on and fuel pump primes
Dipped and full beam work but side...
I'm thinking of doing basic service work like oil changes on my own for the first time since the 1990s, and first time ever on the RX8. I need to get the right equipment to safely get work underneath the RX8, so seeking some advice from those who already do.
Due to unforseen circumstances i had to sell the RX8.
I found myself a great deal on a Clio which drives fantastic and i am happy with.
It was nice while it lasted.
Good bye rotary.
Good morning all. I had noticed over a short period that the mpg had dropped from what i was used to and of course suspected brake friction and tyre pressures. i lived with it for a couple of weeks as my time was taken up elsewhere. One day the nearside front brake got stupidly hot on a journey i...
This is a method we used on piston engines years ago and may work on a rotary.
Find a consistent slope and let the car roll in gear using the engine as a brake. when the conditions are right it will roll over compression to the next cylinder and so on depending on how many you have. It won't tell...
