We are promoting Sakura through this, primarily to get...
Have your say in the running of the club, complimentary drinks and lunch, plus access to Shuttleworth's aviation museum and gardens.

i had a look around and could not find anything like this...
i have seen sim kind of threads on other car forums i have been a member of,
it makes for intresting reading once going to see what people have done each day.
so i thought i would start this thread to see what people have done to there...
OK maybe time to start some sort of record for the special editions so to start lets see what sort of list we can build so please add your details: then the usual copy and paste.
IF KNOWN INCLUDE THE BUILD NUMBER.
I've seen a lot of chat on here about the cars people owned in the past and others they own now. As a relatively young driver i think i've had more than my fair share of cars and recently i seem to follow a pattern in buying- practical to sporty to practical and so on.....
Well, I finally did it and wasn't even trying!!
Nice long trip from Leeds to Chichester, mostly cruising at 85 but still having fun at every roundabout I came across!
Original 300 mile thread seems to have dropped off so started another
Mod bit - title edited, this thread predates the R3 by a...
After reading this in another thread I thought I would just post to say that all is going well with my RX.

Overslept after long weekend out and so the roads were clear on my hasty drive into work, a weekend of not driving made it seem even more lively.
As many members help one another I thought it would be nice to have a post where you can say thankyou to each other. I have been in many car clubs and can honestly say this forum is the most informative and friendly one I have come across. :thumleft: so firstly thanks to everyone who I...
The attached spreadsheet shows the total number of UK RX-8s registered and SORNed, broken down by model and year.
RX-8_UK_Numbers.xlsx
The headlines are:
- 24,730 individual cars have been registered between 2003 and 2018
- 13,289 still exist
- 8,092 are still on the road
- 11,440 are missing,...
I finally had a prototype board running in RX yesterday - figuratively speaking as more running on the seat\console
but A|C controls, Hazards, Dimming all properly plugged in and functioning with standard OEM wiring harness(es).
I still need to update the code to allow for recovery from low...
So yeah, not something I want to do but may have to part ways with my R3 soon. I am looking for some possible advice on what it could be worth and also maybe if anyone is interested. It has a lot of things done to it and I haven't retained the standard parts which have been replaced as I intended...
My car has been off the road for almost two months whilst I replaced all the hoses for silicone ones, fitted new RRP pulleys, and a new AEM style intake, I also ran a cable to the boot for a future battery relocation. And treated the underbody with Lanoguard.
During all this the battery was on...
Since I bought my R3 in 2016 the car has had a small parasitic battery drain. Enough that the starter would be slow if not started for a week in winter. I've gone through more batteries than was ideal.
I'd always put it down to aftermarket headunits (and later bought one that has a verified zero...
My car has always ran cold : Low 80c's most of the time. Mid 80c's in slow traffic in town. Upper 80c's when I'm being a bit playful.
I only breached the 90c's a couple of times and that was driving the car in summer 22 and 23 during the heatwaves. Once getting stuck in a traffic jam in 36C temp...
Hello all RX8 owners and lovers.
Who is able to provide a wiring diagram of the electric cables on a 6-gearbox (RX8)?
My son has bought an RX8 without engine and gearbox and we have purchased a good 231HP engine and a good working 6-gearbox.
After my son has revised the complete engine and fixed...
Got my car bridgeported and now once the car is warm it's showing hesitation 4-5krpm range on depending on gear on light acceleration
Have changed the vacuum hoses, maf cleaned, ess cleaned and reset
Wondering if this is normal behaviour from a Bridgeport ? Fuel trims 2.3% ltft
Thanks for having me in this group.
After a lot of research i have found the car of my dreams!
One owner since new and the the previous owner told me the car is a Spirit R and has been mapped to 300bhp with pops amd bangs.
Compression is about 9.5 bars (he showed me proof) and it pulls like a...
This is an RX8 that we have inspected today, owner's concern being the rust.
We have been told that the owner has had the car in another garage that had to redo the subframes and put the car thru an mot.
Apparently they had the car for a long period, have done the subframes (good job, thumbs up).but...
well today has been an interesting day for me jumps in the car sets off fine to work pulls in to the petrol station treats my pride and joy to a full tank of v power gets back in and totally would not start not even a click !
aa called out of course had no idea what to do but pointed him in the...
I have finally found the root of the problem with my 8’s steering. Thought it was already sorted and just needing alignment, but I got that work done and the symptoms suddenly got worse instead of resolving.
The steering rack needs replaced. Inner track rods moving/clunking side to side when...
Would anybody be interested in a two days road trip in the Peak District?
A friend of mine and I are thinking about organising affordable road trips in the UK and abroad. We hope to organise our first one toward end of August this year. Small number of cars to get the...
I've got a Nextbase dashcam and their hardwire kit which should connect up to the fusebox by the passenger door for a positive connection and the bodywork for a negative, as far as I can tell.
With the hardwiring kit's positive tap installed in the cigarette lighter fuse socket, and the lighter...
So on Sunday as part of my to-do list I replaced the plugs in the rx8, mainly just because I didn't know when they were last done, the car had dealer history with Mazda 'till late '23 which had indicated a plug change at that service, about 15k miles ago.
So on my MOT both of the rear upper arm inner bushings have play.... I'd replace with brand new arms however I don't have the waiting time for them to arrive nor the funds currently.
Anyone got a suggestion on what polybushes to throw in there for now?
Another project that we have finished here at Piston and Rotor the Garage is an RX8 which had quite a few rust issues.
It has been treated in the past but to no success because stone chip over rust does nothing.
Our usual procedure in these cases is strip the car to bare shell, clean everything...
I've been managing an airbag fault on the RX8 over the last 2 months. It started out as the airbag light coming on usually 30-45 after a cold start, but quicker if the cold start was more sluggish. If I hot start the car it would sometimes clear the code (and then wait around the same time...
As there appears to be a growing amount of kerfuffle on how bright cars headlights are blinding everyone who drives a car and as some RX-8`s are equipped with HID`s whilst not probably as intense as LED`s I just wondered how many owners do actually find LED`s dangerous as is being suggested now, I...
I thought it was just the bulb needing replacing, but one of the wires has snapped off right at the plug somehow. Not really sure on the best (easiest!)way to fix it with it being so close. Find a new connector and repin it? Get a second hand plug with some wire attached and solder/join to the...
The rear has been riding low for a while, and it's got to be pretty bad, quite suddenly. Cracked coil or something I guess. Either way, it's at about an hundred thousand miles and they're quite possibly the original items. I don't think I want to do it myself, but I'll buy bparts and get my...
I'm hoping someone can offer some advice on a check engine light issue I'm having with my rx8
I was driving along the A120 for about 20 minutes, holding around 4.5k RPM, when the check engine light came on just before I exited. I pulled the code and it's P0420 - Catalytic Converter...
Hi all, I've just become an RX-8 owner and this place looks like the go to for all of my questions and research before taking the plunge!
I'm Wes, Midlands UK based and used to racing Caterhams and MX-5s. Our MX-5 is a little slow so was looking for something unusual between the two and so a rotary...
