On my new acquistion the boot doesn't open on the remote release button
I've checked the remote disable button in the glovebox and turning that on and off disables the button under the dash, so that works

New to RX8 ownership, got a 2010 R3! I’m having a weird noise under very specific conditions, 2nd gear, high rpm (8200+ at least), when coming off the throttle. It sounds like it’s coming from generally the transmission area, but gearbox etc is perfect.

I've found ever since converting mine to a sohn / remote oil feed setup the sump oil level gradually increases
