With JDM Combe and Beaulieu on the same weekend it struck us that would be an excellent opportunity to have a WHOLE WEEKEND of car shows including our ANNUAL MEET !!
So it is JDM Combe on the Saturday 20th July, discounted...
Following a few recent conversations on the forum, I thought I would just compose a little message for all to give better understanding of Club ethos and tradition, for clarification or new information for members.
Firstly, the club is all about our members and enjoying time...

After reading this in another thread I thought I would just post to say that all is going well with my RX.

Overslept after long weekend out and so the roads were clear on my hasty drive into work, a weekend of not driving made it seem even more lively.
Again on the insurance side of things. I'm only a couple of years older than you at 27, and I think I'm looking at 800 - 900. I'd recommend trying for quotes on confused.com and elephant.co.uk . Elephant is Admiral, and Admiral was the cheapest for me on confused, but seems to have gone from there...
OK maybe time to start some sort of record for the special editions so to start lets see what sort of list we can build so please add your details: then the usual copy and paste.
IF KNOWN INCLUDE THE BUILD NUMBER.
I've seen a lot of chat on here about the cars people owned in the past and others they own now. As a relatively young driver i think i've had more than my fair share of cars and recently i seem to follow a pattern in buying- practical to sporty to practical and so on.....
These are the colour codes for RX-8 touch up paint, Clearcoat denotes that clear lacquer should be applied over the colour basecoat.

Lightning Yellow Clearcoat ..... A4J....
As many members help one another I thought it would be nice to have a post where you can say thankyou to each other. I have been in many car clubs and can honestly say this forum is the most informative and friendly one I have come across. :thumleft: so firstly thanks to everyone who I...
The attached spreadsheet shows the total number of UK RX-8s registered and SORNed, broken down by model and year.

- 8,092 are still on the road
- 11,440 are missing,...
As some of you are aware, I've been in communication with Scorpion-Redpower regarding the potential of having a production re-run of the exhaust system they produced in 2006 for the PZ models.
This would enable PZ owners to restore their exhaust system to their original specification and may also...
Today I drove 452 miles in a diesel Fiesta from Northampton to Newcastle & back & saw a total of 0 RX8's. I also drive to various other store locations for the company I work for and never see more than 2.
Having got the idea off Seanp,I was wondering if people could post up if they're willing to help out fellow owners with fault codes, what area you could cover and/or how far your willing to travel etc, what beverage you'd want on arrival, preference of biscuits and so on&so forth.
Posts reporting rusty sills featured quite regularly on the forum 2-3 years ago, although less so today. The costs of repair relative to the value of the cars at the time meant that a number of RX-8’s were scrapped by owners due to the cost. Maybe that equation has changed, with values stabilising...
Based on the opinions of a couple of other owners regarding the quality of the gear change in their own cars I decided to change the oil in my own gearbox to a full synthetic.
I have used Mobilube SHC 75w90 synthetic gear oil as it is available locally in a trade motor factors that I use.
As a community we have been talking forever about fake ignition coils but these days they’re far from the only fake parts being offered for your car.
“Fake” coils include replicas of the Mazda OEM coils sold in convincing branded boxes, having been produced in a factory in China and sold wholesale...
WARNING: This post is long, really long, and doesn’t even have any pictures.
I've been active on this forum for ten years now and this is all based on my personal experience owning and working on RX8s, talking to owners, information gleaned and distilled from forum posts and PMs, working for Ford...
Please use this thread is if you wish me to follow up any issues/queries you may have, regarding your 8. However, your first point of call should be your dealer. Alternatively, PM me and I will be happy to help.
I have spent time this morning talking to my service manager today. I can now list the...
Took my 8 in for its second service this week at Romford Mazda . A gentleman call Chris called me over to his desk and said, we have done the service, but we have found some problems. My heart sank. Just a few problems he said.
O/s/f anti rollbar lower link broken, os engine mount riding low(did...
You are allowed to vote up to three times for those that have had more than one rebuild but can you post in the thread if you've had more than one with the reason.
E.G. In my case it was Romford Mazda cocked the first one up royally.
If you haven't had a rebuild can you please post your current...
Good evening, does anyone know the weight of a standard s1 231 flywheel and the weight of an Exedy lightened flywheel inc counter weight for an s1 231, thanks, rob. :thumright:
Hi guys😊
Let's talk rust protection.
I am sure that this topic has been covered one million times here but:
My car has no signs of rust,it is like new underneath, sills, chassis, inner sills, wings, arches, everything looks mint.
Now...i would love to keep the thing that way but will it stay that way on...
I might have an issue with my car: The oil level seems to increase with time...
A little more about the car: While I have been lavishing attention and heaps of money on that car over the past 3 years, I have a feeling the (many) previous owners were not so kind. The poor thing may...
After recommendations please for a decent bodyshop/welder/sensible advice following the discovery of air where metal should be on one of the sills during the MOT.
Scrap or save, that’s the question. I’d prefer to seek advice from someone knowledgeable in the ways of the rotary…..
Hi folks not been around for a sometime , family , life etc still have the love for 8 though had my aurora blue now for over six years engine hasn’t missed a beat now passed the 100,000 miles thought I’d share
Hi all,
Set off for a drive yesterday and within a minute there was a screeching sound under the bonnet which stopped when I turned air con off. Got home and the magnetic clutch or the compressor has seized. Clutch was glowing and auxiliary belt smoking. Has anyone got a replacement used part I...
im going to use this thread to showcase some of the more interesting work completed by Kernow Rotary Specialist..
my first customer arrived today after sadly having his car fail its mot. the computer showed a apv solanoid circuit fault and a bank 2 o2 sensor circuit fault. the apv was not...
So! As i'm eternally on the search for shiny bits (of course) I managed to snag myself what I believe is a Mk. 1 RRP COFS adapter for the banana. Mainly thinking that because it's a chunky boy, but has a top entry barb for the oil feed and uses the OEM seals, so definitely not a SOHN.
Does anyone have a brake booster or access to their firewall so they could measure the stud pattern of the brake booster?
I'm trying to see if I can upgrade the vacuum-based system with a tesla brake booster setup as part of an EV conversion, so I'd like to check if the bolt patterns...
I was caught unawares last night and drove through a very deep puddle with the resulting consequence of misfires on rotor 2 and spluttering for the next 1/2 mile until the leads dried out and it all then carried on
checking the intake for signs of damp once home showed no water...
Little Sunday mystery for all the professionals out there...
I took my car for a drive and started the journey with a stop at the local hand car wash. There was a small queue and the car crawled and idled while the gents workong there washed, rinsed and dried all the cars. It took about 15 to 20...
For quite some time my info screen (fan/clock/audio) has been having issues. It would always start out ok but on longer journeys or days when I would do several drop ins so only short rests, the screen would gradually dim in different sections after a while. The sections would come and go but would...
As the title says chaps
Currently sat on the side of the motorway, with a sudden big vibration, jacking the car up shows front left bearing has about 8mm play at the rim
Could do with one for the weekend as this car is my daily
Gsf a and euros no helped
Coilovers seem to be a popular option. But while I enjoy a spirited drive now and then, the car will probably never find itself on a track. I feel a set of coilovers might be overkill for fast road use and that it will kill the delicate balance Mazda...
I couldn't find anything about this anywhere, although there are a couple of threads relating to headlight levelling warning lights.
Since having the car up a couple of months ago for its initial inspection and leaving it overnight in a front-raised position on the ramps, the headlight...
Are those shock absorbers compatible with our UK spec cars?
I know several UK rotary specialists stock the EnduraPro Plus shocks. But I'm wary about purchasing something with 16-level damping force adjustment: I can't set it up myself and I'm not sure how easy it is for a shop to set it up to...
I've just gotten around to trying to replace all the interior (+ mirror puddles) filament bulbs with nice bright LEDS.
Problem i'm having is, any bulbs that are intended to dim (2x Front dome, rear dome, 2x door card, 2x wing puddle) flicker when they dim and look terrible.
I've tried out...
