As you all should be aware by now, the committee have had to take the hard call to cancel Sakura in the Sun as our AM due to lack of uptake from both membership and public.
We thought we were doing something fun and new, with the best intent for the club. This hasn't...
This forum is just a part of the RX-8 Owners Club; to get the best out of the Club you should really look at joining up!
Here are some of the benefits of being a Club member:
See and post in all parts of the forum
As a guest, you can only see a...
i had a look around and could not find anything like this...
i have seen sim kind of threads on other car forums i have been a member of,
it makes for intresting reading once going to see what people have done each day.
so i thought i would start this thread to see what people have done to there...
OK maybe time to start some sort of record for the special editions so to start lets see what sort of list we can build so please add your details: then the usual copy and paste.
IF KNOWN INCLUDE THE BUILD NUMBER.
I've seen a lot of chat on here about the cars people owned in the past and others they own now. As a relatively young driver i think i've had more than my fair share of cars and recently i seem to follow a pattern in buying- practical to sporty to practical and so on.....
Well, I finally did it and wasn't even trying!!
Nice long trip from Leeds to Chichester, mostly cruising at 85 but still having fun at every roundabout I came across!
Original 300 mile thread seems to have dropped off so started another
Mod bit - title edited, this thread predates the R3 by a...
After reading this in another thread I thought I would just post to say that all is going well with my RX.

Overslept after long weekend out and so the roads were clear on my hasty drive into work, a weekend of not driving made it seem even more lively.
As many members help one another I thought it would be nice to have a post where you can say thankyou to each other. I have been in many car clubs and can honestly say this forum is the most informative and friendly one I have come across. :thumleft: so firstly thanks to everyone who I...
The attached spreadsheet shows the total number of UK RX-8s registered and SORNed, broken down by model and year.
RX-8_UK_Numbers.xlsx
The headlines are:
- 24,730 individual cars have been registered between 2003 and 2018
- 13,289 still exist
- 8,092 are still on the road
- 11,440 are missing,...
Struggling with this one.
The car has a flat spot/hesitation around the 4-5k rpm area. When it goes flat I can give it more throttle and it pulls through fine. It's not huge, but is noticeable.
It's slowly crept in for a while. It seems to be more apparent now I have fitted an aem replica...
I don't live in that there London village but occasionally need to cross into the M25 ULEZ zone for races (athletics).
As such wanted to rid myself of the ULEZ charge each time.
2005 manufacture date on the car, so not automatically assumed to be Euro 4 compliant.
I wrote to TFL who said to get a...
Hi have travelled far around this forum, and have not long since found that my Sohn adaptor is useless on a R3....but there doesn't seem.much info as to why. AWould I be right in saying that the 2 pumps are just regulators of the engine oil pressure to take a feed for the oiling pipes/ points,...
Hi guys, Ryan here and apologies if this is the incorrect place to post this,
I uploaded a quick video on YouTube regarding my RX8 I hope you can help with. There’s a tapping/knock sound coming from around the inlet manifold area or at least it sounds it’s loudest there by ear. As far as I know...
Having read the small print on my wife’s breakdown cover which covers me also, they do not cover cars over 15 years old. Had I broken down I would have been stuck.
I assume that some companies will cover us. Can anyone let me know which company they use?
The hose on my Jet washer broke at the weekend & rather than replacing the hose I was considering buying a new jet washer. Does anyone have any recommendations? Obviously Karcher seems to come up a lot. I would also be looking for a new snow foam lance.
Hey guys, I'm going to look at an R3 in Cheshire on Saturday and was wondering if there's anybody local to the area who could perform a compression test on the car? I would of course pay for your time.
As my caliper decided to stick and warp my offside front disc I'll need to replace the front discs shortly. There appear to be lots to choose from from the likes of mtec, mintec, ebc, diamond black etc etc. I'll probably go for slotted discs as I've used those to good effect before, and going...
I am planning on doing the NC500 this year from around the 20th July for about 10 days. Would there be members that would interested in joining the road trip? Also feel free to share on with other clubs. The more the merrier.
Otherwise, if anyone has done the trip and have any...
I finally had a prototype board running in RX yesterday - figuratively speaking as more running on the seat\console
but A|C controls, Hazards, Dimming all properly plugged in and functioning with standard OEM wiring harness(es).
I still need to update the code to allow for recovery from low...
I saw the manual requires removing the drivers engine mount to remove the manifold. That's not really an option for me as I can't access the engine underneath to support it. It's on a board that's supporting it all on the front and rear crossmembers but blocks access to the sump.
So about 4 months ago the car had a weird issue with fuel in the oil, after some research I concluded it was most likely a leaky injector as the engine was rebuilt less than 3000 miles ago and it runs and starts fine.
So, I did something stupid and bought some injectors off eBay to see if the...
I've just bought one and was fitting it today but ran into a bit of an issue with the joint between the backbox and centre section so was wondering if anyone had fitted and had the same problem and how they overcame it.
addling lightness remains the best way to gain performance
so I've done the following but what else remains whilst still keeping the car comfortable and not a track day special?
AC and radio are staying - this is my daily and is driven everywhere.
With people coming from all over to this great event we have in the past used it for a swap meet as well as a fantastic day out with like minded people
If anyone has parts.... wanted...for sale..to give away ..or transport for members with our relay service
Please use this dedicated thread to save...
Long time lurker, first post here so apologies if I've put this in the wrong section!
I own an R3 and am having some trouble locating OEM suspension components to replace my aging parts, specifically the shocks and coils. I don't want to stray from OEM as I want to stay stock, but...
Seems related to wheel speed, like one knock per rotation?does it in with the clutch down, but not sure that tells us much as it's at the back. Sounds to the left of me, but whether that's left wheel or centre (different/prop) is hard to gauge, although gut instinct is wheel. Does it more when...
I don't suppose anyone knows of any cut-away style RX8 graphics that exist? I've had an ATR one for years up in the garage which is pretty cool and I reached out to the guy that made it, if he could source one for the RX8 and he said he couldn't find anything for it. Thought it would be worth a...
Afternoon all, at some point soon I will be getting my banana back on the road, my main concern is going to be welding as it's sat for nearly a year (😭) but I don't really know what I'm looking at!
Would photos suffice for the knowledgeable on here, should I video call an expert or just pack it on...
The car currently sits at 102 624kms (approx 65000 miles). Time for an oil change.
Last year I overfilled the engine with oil due to the oil pressure light staying on... After draining the engine and filling it with approx 3,5 liters (on the dipstick, the oil sits at 1/4 bellow MAX level) the...
Am failing at removing both NS and OS lock rings. I need to remove both sender assemblies. I have a 3 point tool but the friction holding the rings on is tougher than the steel tool and I've had to reshape it in a vice twice.
I did find a tool custom fit for the S2 ring pattern, but they don't...
So yeah, not something I want to do but may have to part ways with my R3 soon. I am looking for some possible advice on what it could be worth and also maybe if anyone is interested. It has a lot of things done to it and I haven't retained the standard parts which have been replaced as I intended...
My car has been off the road for almost two months whilst I replaced all the hoses for silicone ones, fitted new RRP pulleys, and a new AEM style intake, I also ran a cable to the boot for a future battery relocation. And treated the underbody with Lanoguard.
During all this the battery was on...
Since I bought my R3 in 2016 the car has had a small parasitic battery drain. Enough that the starter would be slow if not started for a week in winter. I've gone through more batteries than was ideal.
I'd always put it down to aftermarket headunits (and later bought one that has a verified zero...
My car has always ran cold : Low 80c's most of the time. Mid 80c's in slow traffic in town. Upper 80c's when I'm being a bit playful.
I only breached the 90c's a couple of times and that was driving the car in summer 22 and 23 during the heatwaves. Once getting stuck in a traffic jam in 36C temp...
Hello all RX8 owners and lovers.
Who is able to provide a wiring diagram of the electric cables on a 6-gearbox (RX8)?
My son has bought an RX8 without engine and gearbox and we have purchased a good 231HP engine and a good working 6-gearbox.
After my son has revised the complete engine and fixed...
