With JDM Combe and Beaulieu on the same weekend it struck us that would be an excellent opportunity to have a WHOLE WEEKEND of car shows including our ANNUAL MEET !!
So it is JDM Combe on the Saturday 20th July, discounted...
Following a few recent conversations on the forum, I thought I would just compose a little message for all to give better understanding of Club ethos and tradition, for clarification or new information for members.
Firstly, the club is all about our members and enjoying time...
Having followed the front bumper removal instructions all was going well until I tried to pull the bumper off the car. It appears that the wiring to the front fogs has only 3 of play in them.
Just enough to squeeze my hands through to get to the connectors at the back of the lights.
Hi, does anyone know if front gog light stays/brackets are needed when fitting the mazdapeed front bumper?. What about the fog lights thats on the existing normal bumper?..are they different?..I have a bumper on the way so if it is needed then i guess i need to get these brackets.. To anyone who...
Does anyone know what alloy wheel size can be fitted to the RX8?..like what size can u go up to..say 19inch? or is 18inch the best size to stick with?.
Obviously i'm not that technical, but since the RX8 is a fine handling car to start off, i didnt want to just get some new alloys that are the...
Does anyone know how to remove the headlight power washer cover as mine has cracked and a new one costs £52 + VAT for ONE!!!!! So I am going to try to super glue it.
I can pull the cover out about 10cm and it appears to be secured by 2 screws, however there is no way I can get a screw...
Just bought my RX-8 a few weeks ago and absolutely delighted with it - don't know why it took me so long to buy one. The only thing seems to be that I get a slight juddering when breaking fast from reasonably high speeds. It also pulls slightly to the left when I brake, again normally from...
Little tip for anyone thinking of getting one of these. Go for the LHD version. With this you can still see the whole info display, unlike the standard RHD which hides the aircon settings.
Plus, the charger cable hangs well out of your way on the passenger side.
Hi, I have recently bought a new RX-8 with the factory fitted, built in satellite navigation system. Unfortunately, although I have read the handbook, I cannot find any guidance on how to use the sat nat. The salesman that supplied the car to me said that he did not think that there was any...
Now being the good little RX8 owner that I am, I check my oil regularly. I have noticed over recent weeks that the frothy white stuff that sometimes appears at the top of the dipstick is becoming worse (due to the cold + condensation?) it is now at the bottom. This was so bad at the weekend it made...
Has anybody installed the ipod adapter for sale on ebay from caraudiovisual and is it any good :?:
Ebay Ipod adapter
Apparently you just take the radio out of the car, undo the radio (lid off), fit the PCB, run the lead out to the favoured position and re-assemble.
I wanted my own B-Pillar's looking there best, so niped into Mazda showroom and saw them, locked away in a shining glass prison
Thats when i saw the price £110.00!!!!!. #-o
So off to E-Bay, must be cheaper there, but still costing a lot there, around £80 to £90. :crybaby: So then decided to...
Hi All,
I have had a high power version from new for 7 months, and done 7.5k miles and thoroughly enjoyed it. For the past couple of days however, it doesn't want to rev much beyond 7,000 rpm, and I can't get it to spin up to the red line and 'beep' in 2nd gear. It feels like it needs to 'clear...
My Rexy was recently the unfortunate victim of vandalism (some unknown muppet(s) smashed in the rear window!) and i've been left with glass stuck in the boot somewhere...Everytime I turn Rexy sharply left or right you can hear the glass shift from one side to the other :x
I know Mazda recommend using an authorised service station to carry out an oil change, but just wondered if anyone has done their own oil change, and if so, what's the process?
Have done a search and found lots of info on what oil to use and how often to top up etc. but no info on how to change...
I feel really stupid for asking this, but I've been searching and browsing, but can't seem to find anything on running in a new car. So can someone either point me in the right direction, or alternatively post their tips on running in a new RX8.
Took my car in for its 3rd Service and MOT today, and it failed the MOT because the previous owner had replaced the Front Position Lamps with Blue Bulbs causing a fail.
just bought my shiny new Stratos Blue HP, pick it up on Thursday!
Was wondering if anyone could point me at some pics of the various body kit accessories that Mazda offer? The pictures in the brochure pdf are complete arse...
I've seen various different body kits in these forums but not sure...
Hi all,
Have just purchased some of the bonnet stays from ebay. My next decision is to whether I should take them to the garage to be fitted or allow the boyfriend to do it. What do people think? Are they easy to fit? How much do garages charge to fit them?
Any advice gratefully recieved as I don't...
Picked up a set of these on eBay couple of weeks ago.
Thought it would be easy enough to clip them on but installation is not for the feint-hearted - you actually need to gouge out a sizable chunk of paint and sealant on the inside of each door edge for the full length of the door.
Just had my alloy wheels repaired by Chipsaway after some curb damage for £45 per wheel. The guy was at it for about 75 mins in total. Great job can't even tell the wheels had been damaged.
I can highly recommend them. :D
I’ve just brought a used 230 (53 plate from 2004) from a Mazda dealer in Newport, I’m collecting it on the 19th September.
The dealer didn’t mention anything about the recall for ECU and Starter, could someone explain to me the problem, and how I will know if the car has had the recall work done....
3 weeks ago I had the drivers seat base replaced by the dealer to cure an annoying creak and guess what they have scratched the plastic seat back (I didn`t notice that they had done it until it was pointed out by the first person that sat in the passenger seat.)
Last week I asked my local dealer to renew my corroding alloys under warranty. Today it was booked in to get them replaced (quick or what?!). This morning I got a call saying 'Your car's ready sir, the wheels have been changed' Great I thought!
Anyone invested in one of these ? I'd be very interested in what you think of it in the flesh. I really like the look of it but havent seen one in real life. The ashtray lid looks like its got something missing in my opinion as the piano black facia just stops above the ashtray quite...
Go to your dealer and ask them to perform the Mazda visual check (including suspension and underbody). That way any faults found may be covered under warranty.
Or you could wait for 62,500 mile service for the check to show that you need a new near side anti-roll bar link....
A little birdie told me that the cruise control threads have gone missing on here, but I'm still getting periodic questions about it, so look here for the original details.
I've been looking around the web and seen a number of different sites claiming to be the manufacturer and some big internet retailers mixed up with people I have never heard of and am wondering where is the best place to buy one?
By best I mean the best balance of low price and quality service -...
Just a brief background.....I bought my rx8 (231) 2 months ago. On the 2nd day the oil light popped up, I didnt want to damage the engine so found the nearerst garage for some 5w30. Unfortunately the brand was unkown (it was the only one there and cheap at that) - I put the whole...
As I am planning a drive to the south of France for my holiday, I thought I'd better get some spare bulbs. A simple task, I hear you cry...well maybe I'm just thick because it wasn't......
The Halfrauds chart contains no data for RX8s. Because the headlights are Xenon, you can't buy a simple spare...
My 190 was miss firing, very noticable at tick over, ollso cutting out under hard exeleration, Dealer replaced spark plugs, only 18000 miles?? All four Wheels due to be replaced, paint bubbles near the centre mazda badge, door trims marks with ease watch your shoes:
Has anyone had the same problem i seem to have with my rx8.
When cold and starting off in first if the revs go a little high too about 3000rpm it sometimes starts to kangaroo hop a bit (reminds me of my first driving lesson many years ago) When the car is warmed up it does not happen so...
can't seem to find any thing about exhaust heat. but have heard on grape vine mazda fitted/recalled cars in for heat protection on exhaust.
any one know where it was fitted.
as mine seems to be really hot in the boot well.
beer getting warm from supermarket to home  :P 8)
Firstly apologies if this is in the wrong section or another 'boring' question related to oil but its more do with where I am based - any help appreciated- I have just taken delivery of my new RX8 5 speed version - have been aware of the oil 'issue' in advance. I have just spent the day looking for...
What is the number for Mazda Assist please ? Yes it has happened...flooded !
Had flat battery the other day / charged it / put it back and of course you want to check all is OK....so guess what...started and switched off in short time....forgot the flooding issue ! Doh !
Just having a nose around and I note that the RX-8 is fitted with Mini blade fuses and there are no spares in the fuse box, this type of fuse is still hard to get hold of Halfords don`t stock them and I couldn`t find any in local Motor accessory shops - I ended up at a Motor Factors to get a set of...
ambi pur air fresheners, probably all air fresheners contain chemicals that are highly corrosive to the high gloss finish on the RX8's centre console. I have found this out to my dismay, ...the hard way. An ambi pur leaked all down the front of my console affecting the buttons on the dash...it...
