Thought I’d put a little thread together showing the custom headlights I’ve been building.
Currently awaiting new Bi-LED projectors to replace the factory xenon due to a ballast failure

So 5 months in and had my first worrying moment at the weekend.
Short drive engine not quite up to temperature, but still warm when I stopped. Came back about an hour later and took an unusually long crank to get her to start.
Probably 10 to 15 seconds.
I think to say that chucking myself in the deep end here is an understatement, but with the help from this forum and the specialists, and even my mates, I think I have a fighting chance of making this car even more special. :mrgreen:

Driver's side sill is rotten. There was a fair bit of filler and it was only when the weight of the car was on the jack that it became apparent it was more than just a bit scabby. Passenger side seems solid enough...

So, after having settled on keeping the 192 then discovering sorting the bodywork out properly would be prohibitively expensive, an '09 R3 came up at a bargain price of 3.5k.
After driving it home tonight I've discovered that there are definitely some rough edges to smooth out, unsurprisingly:
