Since I am popping down the dealer in Basingstoke on the A30 (Alan Gibson Mazda) on my way to the pub, if you fancy meeting up there, just park in front of the showroom between 11 and 11.30

That's not too bad, it is just that I work in the City and I am back from work at 8.30 if I am lucky... what time were you thinking to meet up at?

I may manage to free up myself a little bit earlier, or get the wifey to come along as well, so I can get the train straight into Hemel Hampstead.

Changing Gearknob

I changed the original gear knob, and swapped it for my other car's one. The "other car" is a Mazda323f, and the two gearknobs can't be compared for quality, the rx-8's feeling beefy and cleverly crafted, the 323's feeling plastichy and light. But the shape of the knob is what counts, and I must say...

As posted somewhere else, I have got this one fitted:

Works a treat, invisible to the eye, and can be uninstalled and reinstalled in another car.

Sunlight silver 05 plate, just outside Gregg's in Wokingham.
As my mate and I were admiring the car, the driver satisfied my request of revving the engine and let me hear the Renesis! :-)

I installed the K&N filter yesterday!
I took plenty of pictures at 1Megapixel, and made a zip file 8MB in size.
Anyone got some space to upload?
In the meanwhile I posted them on the Gallery section of www.rx8tribe.com

Finally got a wave from a Red in Twyford early afternoon.
I see loads more but none acknowledges me. Are they jealous? I would be proud!

I have decided to book myself on the Grand Prix circuit at Brands Hatch on May 22nd (Sunday).

It's still a sessioned event: 7 x 20 mins. sessions.

I also changed the date on my trackday insurance paperwork.

Anyone up for it?

Strato Blue on A33 heading towards Reading at 8:05 this morning. I was a passenger in my wife's 323F so did not even attempt at flashing or waving. Still though, nice colour. The more I see it, the more I like it! :-)

Just got a call back telling me the event is overbooked and so no track day for me! :-(

Got a full refund from the organiser. So now I need to look for another event before June...

Of the several ones I have seen in the past few weeks, the one to stand out is a Sunlight Silver in Bath town centre, apparently without satnav as it looked a bit lost. Can't remember plate but it was a couple and the car had the rotary accent at the front.

Thanks for the advise Steve! :-)
I sure hope I won't be alone the whole day. I have just invited a friend with an MX-5 to come along so I won't start talking to myself on the day!
