The only caveat with the MOMO knobs is the fitting. The Mazda knobs are all screw-on type. That's how I found out I needed to replace the stock gearknob, by using the knob found on a Mazda 323f which I found more comfortable. The MOMO knobs have a "universal" fit: the hole is quite big, and you need...

I'd have a preference for Bedford, never been myself but a number of my mates speak very highly of it [and nothing significant to hit :)]. If we could get enough people we could actually hire the circuit exclusively and have it to ourselves. Likewise for insurance, I'm sure the club could do a bulk...

199 is what I would pay for Bedford, all day open pitlane. All the others are a bit far for me, or indeed more expensive, so that is something I need to take into account. Insurance wise, I'll get myself a couple of quotes from my ragular trackday insurer and see what they come up to. Between open-p...

I am looking into August/September time since my first child will be born in July and I do need a few weeks to get to grips with how to change nappies! ;-) There are three factors for me to decide what trackday to attend: - cost of trackday itself (hence why I am keen on Bedford, being one of the ch...

The springs in the RX-8 are not linear, but progressive: the more you push them the harder they get: which means a couple of passengers may make it look like it's been lowered, but then it won't bottom down so easily. You notice that in the corners: the more your cornering force, the more the car se...

You can always book a caterham hire: it includes the trackday and use of a catherham (with some instruction too) for the whole day. Cheaper than taking your own car if it means travelling far. Have a look at BookATrack.co.uk: Castle Combe Wed 2 Aug trackday: £195 Caterham hire: £445 Available Sessio...

Let's organise a trackday we can attend to together

Hi Everyone. I am pretty sure Zevans and KennyNI agree that it would be cool to agree on a date for a trackday. There are several organisers of trackdays, I used easytrack.co.uk, but bookatrack, trackdays and all the circuits owners organise them too. So, I am going to put down a list of locations, ...

Hi everyone! I had a fantastic day at Bedford on Saturday! It was sunny, and relatively mild (13C). Open pitlane is definitely better than sessioned: you can pace yourself the way it suits you, and you always have time for one or two cool down laps. It is a very fast track, very long, a good mix of ...

The extra revs are well worth it if you plan to use them. My wife hardly uses the car above 6k revs. She is by no means slow, but does not enjoy the edge of the 9k revs as much as I do. 6k revs for me is just cruising ;-) Even Porsche, known for lousy redlines compared to Ferraris, in their GT3 mode...

This one's debateable - some people seem to think it's a good idea to do this, others not. Personally, I think it's a good idea. It's always recommended by tyre dealers to have the newer or "grippier" tyres on the back Agreed. Nuff said. :D Quote! P.S. Just rotated my 3rd set at 8k miles (6mm front...

Got myself a slot on the 25th March event trackday at Bedford Autodrome! If anyone is up for it, I am going so let me know and we can organise a group meet there! Look at the first post for details on how to book, get insurance, and see the track. http://www.easytrack.co.uk/events/view.asp?event_id=...

I might meet up with you guys at 10 in the overflow carpark for the nice run before V.W.
But bearing in mind my new brake pads need bedding-in, I may stay at the very back of the pack, so I won't have to brake too hard.
If I don't see you at 10, I shall see you at 11 in V.W.

Well, my wife is obviously a very clever b***h!

She has waited so long to give me the "all clear" on the trackday that now it's FULL! :-(

So, the next bedford GT is in April, the bank holiday!
And she can't say no this time!
