Strato Blue on ITV last night. It was pretty well kitted out and had a cool spoiler and wheels on it. The sound though was more V8ish than Wankelish. I think member Wolverine was driving it and had some teens in the back. They also had mutant sort of powers and were listening to Boyzone or something...

Maybe he replaced them with some bulbs that emit blue light.

Automatic screen wipers sound good, if they work. I was caught by a sudden storm on track last time at Bedford, and as I was approaching the end of the fastest straight at 120+ mph, let's say visibility was a bit of an issue. Automatic lights: I tend to make a better judgement but i can see how they...

Get the tracking checked by a garage with computerised equipment. I cannot stress this enough as the typical Laser equipment is not good enough. The Hunter computer system used by Merityre can do a 4 wheel alignment of our rx-8 to hundreth of degree. Our suspensions are the Sport Suspensions in thei...

Not long now before the event at Bedford. Price has now gone up to £220. Remember to book the instructor, and helmet if you haven't got one. Also remember to get brakes checked, tyres checked and a carrier bag for oil and some windscreen cleaner. Remember all the track organiser's paperwork, includi...

Performance wise very little, but noticeable under heavy load.

From a pure filtration point of view, it does filter less than the stock paper filter. Hence why I have decided to keep the normal paper filter when on the road, and use the K&N when on the track only.

Castrol GTX is what Castrol recommends for the RX-8, and is semi-synth.

If you want fully synth you can try Castrol EDGE or Motul 8100 or Motul 300V. Rallynuts.com sells Motul 300V 5w-30 competition oil (the one I am going to get next) at 10 pounds per litre rallynuts.com

I just got myself a pair of racing gloves. I wasn't sure if I needed them since on the last few trackdays I never really needed them badly, but I thought they were so cheap it was probably worth giving it a shot. I bought a pair of Sabelt Primo, and I must say they are comfortable, and don't take an...

Hi there,

Yesterday my wife, in a moment of (in)sanity, probably triggered by my unborn baby's kicks in the guts, decided to let me go to Bedford in August!

So, I will be booking my track day this week.

Hopefully other will join soon! :-)

DIY is calling me too! :-(

Can't make it. But I hope you will appreciate the tomtomGo route I made the other day and posted previously.

In exchange, wifey has allowed me to book the 26th August trackday at Bedford Autodrome! :-)

I hope you all have a good time tomorrow! :-)

I used to do it too, until I realised that by parking the same way as everybody else, I tend to get a bit more room to open the driver's door. Also, it makes it easier to load/unload the shopping, or the baby's pushchair. And if someone broke into it, they would find it takes longer to reverse the c...
