Re: Bose AudioPilot

I'm actually in the process of doing a write up on it. Effectively, for any of you who remember the loudness button on older car stereos. The loudness button was a pretty simple circuit that recreated the effects of the Fletcher Munson curve in reverse. Where at lower perceived levels our ears are n...

Re: Puddle of Water in my passenger side footwell

Ah well bummer. I cleaned out the drain holes and all were unblocked.
Long story short. I applied sound deadening to the outer skins a while back and it may have come loose or I may have not sealed the plastic properly

Re: Puddle of Water in my passenger side footwell

We'll bugger me. I just got into the car after work and there's a nice puddle in my passenger side. Followed the path and it's coming from the door card.
Thanks for the info guys. Gotta wait till the rain stops now. Damn it.

Re: d585 coils (or similar) to borrow for test

my concern is that rr have been supplying sub standard coils by the fact that they have been pointing us to the cheap ebay ones as a replacement. Sorry I hope you don't take me as being argumentative. I wouldn't say they were scamming us. But I haven't looked at any of their previous advertisements...

Re: Alternative performance direct fit coils?

i agree. i was in the market for new coils 2 years ago. back then it was d585 or oem. i looked into d585’s and decided on oem. i believe the ls coil as a base for d585’s is a totally unsutiable coil for a rotary, and my opinion has been borne out by the seemingly high failure rate . I do agree with...

Re: d585 coils (or similar) to borrow for test

Indeed guys, and thanks for the input. For those with limited experience, I would certainly point them towards OEM rev C or RRP. At the price without discount almost the same price as OEM, and they both last 20-40k they both work out financially equal. So any longer time on the RPP would be added bo...

Re: d585 coils (or similar) to borrow for test

I thought I'd chime in on this one. I too am a bit disappointed to find my RR coils no longer have a warranty. When I joined the club I was pretty wary of doing the old school tricks on these cars. One being coil swapping. Not called an upgrade for our reasons to swap out a Mazda coil to a V8 coil w...

Thanks dude, would it be better to do the Vactan prior to coming to the meet? Maybe minimise ramp time on the day?

Re: Free Car Lift, Barbecue and Luke Murdoch - Saturday 26th October from 8.30am

@goodeggbob how long does it take to apply the wax. If I could do some of it in the ground and only where I need to get under, put it on the ramp, I might save time for someone else who will want to use the ramp too?

Re: Free Car Lift, Barbecue and Luke Murdoch - Saturday 26th October from 8.30am

I'm going to be picking up some cavity wax for this meet.
I was talking to a pal of mine who owns a canal boat and he told to get Vactan and apply that first before the cavity wax. He doesn't use a cavity wax though but most of them will use this instead of Kurust.
Anyone ever used it?

So that will free up the ramp for smaller jobs :) On a side note, I usually buy my ribeye from a meat4less store here in t...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Why have you "set the toe 1.5 ish out" ? FWD cars normally run some Toe Out, as the wheels are trying to pull ahead of the car, so when all the slack is taken up under power, the result is nearer zero. RWD cars normally run Toe In, as the car is being pushed from the rear, between the front wheels,...
