Re: Worn Brake Pads?

One of the pins has a plastic sleeve to stop it rattling. If the wrong grease is used then the sleeve swells and jams. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk Thanks Dave, No idea what was used previously. I didn't see any traces of red grease either. I've used high temp moly grease for a long time no...

Re: Worn Brake Pads?

Sorry to hijack but I thought this may be worth adding for future reference. I just checked mine today. The NS front bottom slider was stuck. It could rotate with a wrench but wouldn't come out. With a little bit of persuasion I managed to get it off. The bottom of the pin was bone dry What I notice...

Re: T200 CAD Supercharged RX-8 Engine Renaissance

So today's escapade was to set the Teins to full hard. Had to suck water out of the DS strut top about 250ml which must have come from the side vent in the water shield of the bonnet vent which is now gaffer taped over. The adjuster was initially stiff, no doubt a bit of rust due to the water. Road...

Re: supercharger centrifugal

I decided to look at the kind of power curve that a Rotrex could give you. Firstly, it's important to understand the difference between the various boosting technologies: 1) A screw-type supercharger is "positive displacement", so will force air into the engine at low and mid rpms, but at high revs...

Re: supercharger centrifugal

I'm wondering not about the RPM of the crank but how much RPM can the SC handle via the pulley selection, and what CFM would it be capable of outputting at that RPM. I would've thought if the CFM exceeds the CFM at max flow from an NA then that's the first bonus. If the CFM is less than the CFM of a...

Re: supercharger centrifugal

There's some other threads about why a smaller SC could be a problem. Maybe someone who knows could point in the right direction. I think it needs flow enough so not to choke the required intake CFM and some other things like handle the rpm a rotary will throw at it. I'm all in for cowboy make ups b...

Re: supercharger centrifugal

I'm not savvy but i say it would be similar to an exhaust driven supercharger. Where the centrifugal SC will take time to build up boost compared to a screw type SC. My understanding is that we use a crank driven SC to improve lower end torque not the upper HP and the limitation is that the exhaust ...

Re: Armourall headlight restorer - don't use!

Yep I'd say that's a reaction to what ever was on it before
Try cutting it back heavily, 800 then progress upto 3000 grit, compound, then seal..
But the what ever may have reacted with the plastic itself.

Oh I thought you had your tyres done at the shop. Me jumping to conclusions. A broken spring could give a nasty imbalance. Mines like that right now.
