Re: 16MPG!!!! :@ ;) Normal? And pls help me understand street porting :)

Basically,if you're concerned about fuel consumption then you've bought the wrong car :-k

The words 'economy' and 'RX8' don't belong in the same sentence ;)

Re: Buy an rx-8 as a first car?

I've premixed my R3 since I bought it almost 5 ½ years ago - I've variously used Castrol Power 1 2T,Protek-R and currently Idemitsu rotary premix. I use roughly 125ml to a full tank, but don't bother if I'm only 'topping up'. Had it comp tested out of curiosity in Sept 2014,and it was 7.0 - 7.1 prett...

Re: The other...motorbike

Nice bike Chris, would you ever be tempted to get another one?.. It crosses my mind every time summer comes around,Ian, If I did it would have to be something very similar to my old Z1000R..an old-school sport bike. Got chatting to a guy who had a beautiful Z1000R done in white instead of gre...

Re: The other...motorbike

My biking days are a long way behind me,but my last steed,in the mid 80's,was a 1982 Z1000R Eddie Lawson replica, looking very much like this - same as Ian,I have no pics of my actual bike - only mine had a Metmachex box section swinging arm and multi spoke wheels, and that all-important - and loud! -...

Makes me glad I'm an old fart (55)..the R3,with all mods declared, plus the Swift Sport daily driver, both fully comp with protected bonus, less than £400 the pair..

Re: Premium vs standard fuel

My local station - my supply of Esso Ultimate - blocks access to the forecourt whilst a tanker is refiling the tanks..no doubt due more to the 'elf 'n' safety aspect, rather than concern for what Dave has just mentioned above ;)

Re: Advice about my (wheel) nuts

What make are the wheel nuts? I'd recommend something like Muteki's..they're tuner nuts,in steel with an external hex drive like a normal nut. They protrude enough to allow the supplied tool to fit without fouling the wheel.

Why not go for the 'flocked' look using suede wrap :?:

I'm considering doing this to my passenger (dash) airbag, and the instrument binnacle ;)

I'll have my 8 litre pressure washer with me full of water, some of which will be used to wash the black dust off my wheels - should be plenty left to give yours a once-over ;)

Which now begs the question - have you noticed a significant drop in fuel economy :?: ( Bearing in mind that the term 'fuel economy' as regards an RX8,has to be taken very loosely  )

Re: I'm way too addicted to the RX8 but...

:whathesaid: regarding fuel economy. The RX8 is not an economical car, full stop. As John also said, start studying the Buyer's Guide, then work your way through these FAQ's to arm yourself with the essential knowledge ;) If and when you start looking at cars, enquire if there is evidence of a recent co...

Re: The Japanese Performance Show - Sun 19th August

All we need now is a rendezvous time..we need to be on stand by 10AM latest,so I'd suggest an 8.30 meet up..Stoneleigh is only about 4-5 miles from the retail park, which would give us plenty of time to get set up on site ;)
