Re: New RX9 engine

If its a competitor for the Supra irrespective of which engine it comes with and 400 bhp from a 6 cylinder Skyactive will be nice but look for something approaching £55K so no real comparison with any RX model. [-X I actually have kept my RX-8 for 12 years now from new as the idea was if they brough...

Passenger door lock

I have just discovered the passenger door lock was not locking, the locking button is moving with the key fob but not quite enough to complete the full lock/unlock cycle, now it is more than likely through lack of use as that door is rarely used so has anyone had this happen before I start door pane...

Re: Just got an RX8, but it seems broken and my garage dont know hot to fix it.....

There is a big puff of black smoke comes out the back when you put your foot down hard. Black exhaust is a sign of over fuelling which could be poor ignition you really need to make sure it is all OK - poor ignition is not good on a Rotary don`t be tempted to buy cheap stuff off eBay it invariably ...

Re: Just got an RX8, but it seems broken and my garage dont know hot to fix it.....

:welcome: Well the place to start is to verify you have quality ignition coils, plugs and leads (they all can be poor quality copies) but one would assume a reputable builder would do that at the rebuild stage, then if required get a Rotary engine compression check, followed by the exhaust component...

Re: Even possible??

I always remember the day in 2004 when I went to collect my first RX-8 a new 190 car in brilliant Black with red and black interior and whilst I was checking it out on that nice sunny day a young couple came along and said "Is that your car have you just bought it?" to which I replied "yes I have" t...

Re: Even possible??

More than likely any car at that price would be for the early cars and they can be up to 17 years old so rusting body work can be a problem and that can be expensive to sort out.

Re: New owner of a MX5 Mk2

Its all down to the drains - the soft top drains through the sills and the out of the drain holes at the bottom but very few owners know this and it all gets blocked up - you need a trumpet cleaning brush to poke down it to keep it all clear.

Re: Dealer Experience - whats yours like?

This what one of them did to 4 brand new warranty replacement alloys and as they had damaged them they decided they were not going to pay for more replacements so they thought it would be a good idea to respray just the fronts of my old alloys fit them and hope I wouldn`t notice. And also as they ha...

In answer to that I have used several I`ll even name them not necessarily in order of uselessness. Trinity Mazda - Hinckley (now bust) (Dishonest and useless - repainted my corroded alloys and fitted them as new replacements) Coventry Mazda (Couldn`t manage a simple service or a recall, damag...

Re: **SAFETY ALERT: Fuel Tank recall - Fuel Leaks & Other Issues"

This is the first ever time that a vehicle I own has outstanding recalls (to my knowledge, at least), and I was not surprised to find that I have 4 outstanding - 2x airbag inflators, 2x fuel tank leaks. Don`t forget no more than 1/4 tank of fuel when you take it in then check the gauge accuracy and...

Re: **SAFETY ALERT: Fuel Tank recall - Fuel Leaks & Other Issues"

Why on earth did I trust them to have carried out this recall correctly? As I had not filled the tank since the recall work was carried out and with the renewed interest in some of the problems owners were left with I decided to run the tank down till the low level warning light came on and then tak...

Re: Recall work - anything to watch out for?

Clip that held the plug up and out the way of the gearbox was broken by their "technician". They also had some insulation tape caught in the plug connector. Incidentally when I opened the glove box the airbag warning light came on!!! They have also managed to scratch up my glovebox and leave dirty ...

I thought the Wheels on the Mazda 3 MPS were the same ones as the RX-8 40th Anniversary :?:

Mazda 3 MPS is 7.5J 52.5 offset the RX-8 is 8J 50.0 offset the colour is different as well.
