Not the outing you were hoping for but I've clicked on "Watch Later" and looking forward to some footage of you working your way through the pack. :race:

Re: Low emission E10 fuel

All cars will also have a switch or setting to disable the speed limit or set it at any level desired. Having it set automatically is I think considered too dangerous. eg: motorway road works with an average speed limit or Smart motorways still show as 70 mph on my Google Earth sat nav so unless th...

That's what I was thinking, but it would be a good opportunity to know for sure, now it's in pieces.

Re: Help with diagnosing a whinging gearbox

I have see those "petals" removed from an 8's diff but I still don't know which part of the construction they come from and what's the impact of them being broken, other than they can get caught between the gears.

Re: Jeep constantly Alarming

I think the battery may be the cause of the issue. Reconnected it this morning and the alarm instantly sounded, though it did stop in response to buttons on the fob. Left it a few minutes and all was silence. Got in the car to start the engine but it wasn't having any. Starter chugged a couple of ti...

It's good to know that our cars still appeal to 4 year olds, or was that a 16 year old after hom skooling? [-X

Yes the cores are "handed" too. The mounting points are at the front and the block underneath faces the centre of the car.

Re: Jeep constantly Alarming

There was a suggestion, in another group, that "As a 3.7 lump, it's just alarmed at the price of unleaded petrol!"

I must admit that it makes the 8 seem positively frugal #-o

Re: Jeep constantly Alarming

This is the factory-fitted alarm, so the connections are buried in the looms.

I've tracked down a (poor) copy of the wiring diagram. So it looks like I'll be doing some track-n-trace.

Jeep constantly Alarming

We have a 2002 UK-spec 3.7V6 with 106k miles on the clock. Yesterday, for no apparent reason the alarm went off while she was parked in our very quiet drive. I took the keys out, pressed the button on the fob and the alarm stopped, for about 10 seconds, then started again. Pressed the buttons again ...

Re: RX8 for sprinting/hillclimbing

The boot lid is steel but not that heavy, plus you'll need the strength if you're fitting an effective spoiler.

The front doors are steel, though the rears are alloy.

Most aftermarket bonnets, including the "Carbon Fibre" ones, are significantly heavier than the oem alloy bonnet, unless you're willing to pay £££££'s
