Re: Mazda RX8 - R3 2009 Crytal White
Normally, I'd say that every £1,000 spent on modifying a car, reduces the value by £500, when it comes to selling, compared to an unmodified example. However, this may be one of those exceptions that proves the rule, particularly when exposed to the right audience. Sent from my SM-G556B using Tapata...

The chassis of our trailer has a distinct curve, that wasn't part of the original design, following an overload event.

Re: RX-8 R3 & Series 1 Fuel Pump Upgrade / Direct replacement
While various fuel pipe ring removal tools are available, I can see an advantage of sourcing a good tool that fits the RX-8's ring, and offering it alongside the replacement pump.

Re: New on here, advice sought re specific purchase
Just my opinion but why would you fit cheap tyres on your "pride and joy" unless you are running the car on a low budget - when I look at a car for sale tyre brand is a dead giveaway to me, I only did it once I bought an Mk1 MX5 with "Sunny" tyres, I soon found out in the wet th...

Re: Gears and Gasoline Bridgeport RX8 Video
Makes a change to see an S2 being stripped and rebuilt. Interesting that they choose to drop the complete powertrain out the bottom, rather than pull the engine out the top. I can see compromises and benefits either way but that latter seems more popular with UK specialists, for "reasons"?...

My Dotz Touge are about the same weight, which I justify on the basis that they're still lighter than oem wheels plus spacers.

Re: New on here, advice sought re specific purchase
Strong smell of petrol suggests either it's been decatted, or cat is failing, or one or more trailing ignition coils us down. The latter isn't noticeable in power delivery but can kill cats. The oem cat is massively expensive and most aftermarket replacements can melt on a rotary engine. There are g...

Re: CAR STOLEN
What surprises me, given how long the OC has existed and who large our membership is, is this is the first stolen car to be notified here - at least in my memory. We've been through spates of cat thefts, as the OEM cats have high scrap value, which often resulted in collateral damage to neighbouring...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
You'll be amazed how more headroom there is with a cloth drivers seat, plus there are ways of additionally lowering the rails. Then there's the weight saving, which is considerable, and much better surface grip and support. They don't even get hot to the touch when parked in the sun. What's not to l...

Re: Ways to reduce weight - the car that is
I'm assuming that's "driver in"; and that would be the downside of weight reduction, as the driver now weighs more, as a percentage of the car's weight.

Interesting yes, and it's been within our technical library since 2011. It's location was moved in 2013, along with it's partner paper dated 1971, and a whole bunch of other stuff. Currently accessible to members here https://www.rx8ownersclub.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=48765 Which reminds...

It takes the combined forces of ram air to force it in the front and venturi effect from the exhaust gases to pull the air out the back, to get enough flow. They have to balance the back pressure required to create the venturi (suction by blowing, not to be confused by any other references ;) ) whic...

A quick tip on Forum etiquette, you only need to quote text if you're specifically responding to a single element of another's post, and just quote that bit, or to a post that isn't immediately above. Otherwise it just makes the thread longer and more difficult for others to follow.
