Those "increased" temperatures are certainly nothing to worry about but it would be interesting if we found a direct correlation between premixing and lower running temps, though I suspect it would need a lot more data points

Not that I recall. The differences are internal, though there should have been a suppliers part number marked, when they were new.

Beware that front O2 sensor is one of the things different between the 231 and 192, so hopefully the couple he's given you are both from 231's.
