Bizarre things can cause issues with any car, let alone a rotary. I saved a perfectly good car from being scrapped by removing the Wiper fuse! The engine refused to start, even with a fresh charged new battery, and a local "JDM Specialist" had already diagnosed as "a blown engine - be...

It might just be the battery has been disconnected, so the PCM hasn't learnt the fuel trims, so can't idle without dying. Or it could be fuel pump overheating and stopping. Or ignition coils are dying Or, too many other possibilities with too little information. Sent from my SM-G556B using Tapatalk

You'll need "marine ply" or you could go with "exterior grade MDF" like this stuff https://mdfdirect.co.uk/product/exterio ... t-to-size/

If the cat collapsed, when removing check the catback for any chunks that may have broken off.
Otherwise, you wouldn't be the first to find that they still have classic symptoms of a blocked cat, having decatted.

Re: Flos's new VAG Friend 💙
Most common causes on these are the foam on the blend doors disintegrating or the motors for said doors giving up. Had a couple of weeks off work so ripped out the lower dash to check the motors as they're the easiest - all working as they should be. Slightly more laborious job of checking the blen...

Re: flood damage - hydraulic or not?
Thermal shock or just pressure will break up the cat core.
Your best "decat" is the de-cored original cat.

Add to that list
- check resonator box on side of intake hose, as that may also be full of water.

Your first step is to check the regulations for this other category, as some of the things you suggest may or may not be permitted.

They just make repeated payments less than £100, for something like Apple or Xbox credits, until they get declined, either because account is empty or bank security is triggered.

The latest scam
Scammers are always inventing news ways to relieve people of their money, and people selling cars are often seen as easy targets. The latest that I’ve come across goes like this: someone contacts you, and says they want to buy a car, but before they do so, they want you to provide a condition and st...

Re: Harry's Project 3 Rotor! (Est. 2024)
May be a dumb question, but if I'm running a fuel pressure regulator on the feed, (as the carbs will require) could this negatively affect the fuel pump at all? Way I'm looking at it in my head is it can't be great pumping almost against a brick wall once pressure on the regulator is reached? :-k o...

Re: Harry's Project 3 Rotor! (Est. 2024)
So i'm not sure about the way the fuel system has been tampered/wired with, and also how it was set up on the engine. Currently, it runs from the tank, up to the firewall feed line, across to the rear carb, to middle, to front, then on a return from the front carb to a fuel pressure regulator, and ...

Re: Help please! Suddenly Immobile RX8
Check that the battery is connected the correct way around, as those symptoms are very similar to those I've seen on cars with the connections reversed. If they are the correct way around then likely that one (or both) are actually tight. The original clamps were designed for Japanese specification ...

Re: do HID bulbs fade over time ?
You may find that 80W versions are often much more variable quality and produce a less usable beam, depending on the brand.
BTW both Osram and Philips bulbs are now being faked and sold on ebay, Amazon, and local motor factors, with packaging that's very difficult to tell from the real things.

I have a used rotor and housing for display, but they're too big and heavy for use on a desk.

Re: RX8 replacement key board
You don't program the key or fob, rather you program the car to accept the key and fob. There's a maximum numbers of keys and fobs that the car can remember, so if it's not allowing you to add more, you may have reached the limit. AFAIK there's no way to remove individual entries from the list, so y...

It just arrived, a few days late, but well worth it. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/144338954641 Looks like machined metal, even though it's just 3D printed plastic.
