Any closer and they would reach "critical mass" and it would be Armageddon melt-down...

Re: RR54 SC Track Project 297hp & 221lbft @ Flywheel

I was going the mention the cleaning out problem when you posted the pics of those nice grey castings. You're obviously on the case now and realise how much damage even a tiny amount could cause if left in oil/coolant/intake areas. You get it all apparently clean, squirt some brake cleaner into a li...

BP Motors in Cheltenham ( www.cheltenhamcarbodyrepairs.co.uk ) have been recommended to me a couple of times but I haven't used them yet. They do a range of work from insurance repairs to full resprays. A friend of mine is currently in discussions with them about repainting his Triumph Stag. I don'...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

What amp rating should the main [thick] battery cable be, please? 170A enough? I would go for a minimum 200A if the battery is still in the engine bay, or 300A if you're relocating to the boot, to avoid excess voltage drop. Note that many suppliers quote the maximum current capacity of a cable (bef...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

RRP ignition coils and leads now on the car, running sweetly. Scott (RRP) noted there is a vibration while in neutral and thinks the engine mounts are corroded so i guess that's the next thing on the list. I broke the skin on my fingers trying to get the third brake bulb out. Got it out eventually,...

Re: Wanted: PZ suspension

There should be no duties to pay, if they're receiving and returning your own units.

Those were the rules before we joined the EU.

The paperwork just needs to be completed correctly.

You may even to be able to have the work done without paying local VAT.

Re: Hachiroku's 40th Anniversary

I have one of those shiny alloy oil filler caps, which I thought was a great idea until I burnt my hand trying to top-up the oil. Even with a rag I couldn't get it to undo with the engine hot. Eventually I swapped back to the original cap and the shiny alloy rotor has its place on what the Irish Rot...

Not sure what the score is with selling and being an ex member, so if this is treading on toes, could a mod pm me please.

Thanks all.
Mark
There is a "donation" process to allow ex-members to post Selling adverts.

You should have a PM incoming with details.

Re: RR54 SC Track Project 297hp & 221lbft @ Flywheel

I'm sure there's been "mixed feelings" at various stages. When you commit to pulling the engine out and stripping down then you want to find sufficient damage to justify that action, but not excessive damage that may be terminal for key components. I made a flippant comment a few pages ago...

I find it interesting that someone such as yourself, who is clearly quite intelligent and immersed in the motor trade, is willing to sink their money into an RX8. Could it be that you've been influenced by a concept that has long since been missing from the motor trade... . . . . . . . . . . ... pas...

Rust can be deceiving at both ends of the scale; sometimes the scariest looking can be the easiest to fix, while some of the most innocuous looking can turn out to be terminal.

Many people have tried to make aftermarket MX5 shifters work on the R3 but I'm not aware of anyone succeeding.
