Blanking the registration, both here and on ebay doesn't help the sale at all and may well put many people off, as they can't do an HPI check or review the MOT history.

Re: supercharger centrifugal

Going slightly off-topic here, but might be of interest ... One of the biggest changes that was required when we redesigned the Harrier to the Sea Harrier was increasing the size of the engine water injection tank from 50 gallons to (something like) 80 gallons. On a static hover, water was injected ...

Re: supercharger centrifugal

The thermal stresses on the engine and the cooling system would be immense, not just from the power being produced but also from the intake charge being @ 87°C, and I assume that's based on it taking air from outside (ambient) rather than eating what it can from within the engine bay, which seems wa...

Re: BMW M235i versus RX8 R3 1 year on

Thankfully McLaren has listened and made the GT with 570 litres of storage space. It's like they had you in mind :thumright: I had to look http://configurator.mclaren.com/configuration/startConfiguration.do?profileName=GT  Strangely, Mclaren don't have any dealers in NI, though you can't move...

Re: T200 CAD Supercharged RX-8 Engine Renaissance

I've had that on an Astra after the wheels were "rotated" to even out the wear. Fortunately the cause was obvious, though I initially thought that they'd left a wheel loose, as it had been fine for weeks previously and was nasty on the way back from the garage. It was one of the things that our flee...

Re: How to improve Ignition

The primary challenges that face the Renesis ignition system relate to duty cycle and charge time (dwell angle). As a forum guest, you don't have access to the 70% of the forum content that it restricted to members-only, this includes the Technical library and a huge amount of debate on this a many ...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Published figures for lowering springs are compared with "Mazda Standard Suspension" as fitted in the US and JDM. All UK 8s came with Mazda Sports Suspension so the difference is much less. Last time I worked on a members car that was having trouble over road humps we found that both rear springs ha...

Re: kuro no1 and no2

Tapatalk on photo/tablet handles the "this photo is upside down" meta data but Web browsers on desktops/laptops don't.

It wouldn't be rocket science but there isn't an agreed method for browsers to do this.

In the meantime it's a source of mild amusement ;)

Re: Handbrake replacement

The cloth seats adjust lowered and further back, as they aren't limited by motors, which also means that they're a lot lighter, plus the added benefits of being warm in winter (without the need for heaters), cooler in summer and you don't slide around when cornering.

Re: leave RX-8 sitting for 3 months...advice?

IIRC You can only tax for whole calender months, so it costs you a whole months tax even if there's only a couple of days left that month when you want to re-start the tax. <rant>Every time a used car gets sold the gov'ment gets that months road tax paid twice, as it immediately cancels the remainin...

Yes, the two sit side-by-side within the housing as a single unit would be too wide to fit through the slot.

Re: RX8 Brake Master Cylinder

What year is the car? The master cylinder design was changed in 2006, with very different pipework layout The easiest way to tell is the early ones have a bled nipple, the later one's don't. The PZ was launched in '06 and I have seen a couple of PZ's with the early unit fitted. Post/PM your VIN and ...
