Re: Bought a MIG Welder

I had to teach Pauline to weld, after I broke my arm and the mudguard brackets cracked on the 'bike trailer. It was more like Pauline teaching me how to swear, as she came out with language that would have made a squadie blush. To be fair, she had it down after about an hours practice and even cut o...

Re: Oxford Driving Roads

The road from Peterborough out to Spalding, you can see the route of the road across along the dike ahead by sighting the line of telegraph poles. That is, until the lines of poles goes straight on but the road does a 90 left. They had so many people go straight off into the fields that they planted...

Re: RRP coils end expanded - FIXED!

If there's a slight gap now under the HT lead seal, then a wipe of silicon grease should keep any water out.

Re: Revi beats air ram

The US-spec cars have a different crash structure behind the bumper to the UK cars.

When Racing Beat Europe sells these units, Clive puts in a different set of mounting brackets, which he sources in the UK, as the US kit doesn't fit.

Re: Compression test

I was going to suggest that it's like avoiding medical tests, as many people would "rather not know" but this means that you can't know to change you're lifestyle, or have an operation that might save your life. However, the analogy falls down as "resurrection" isn't a viable option, at least for mo...

Re: Rear fog light

I wouldn't want to cause the destruction of a perfectly fine bumper but, if it's already damaged then I could certainly use the centre lower section.

Re: FS - RRP Coils As New. *SOLD*

Carl, am I correct in assuming that the lifetime warranty on this products only applies to the original purchase and is not transferable?

This is not a criticism, as transferable lifetime warranties is a route to chaos.

If you're in traffic that much, try replacing your cabin air filters with "active carbon" versions.

They don't care if it's collapsed, as long as (most of it) is there.

Rear fog light

Has anyone got a rear fog light that they don't need any more? Better still would be the light and the section of the lower bumper that it fits in, basically the "frame" and the bit that the light bolts into from behind. rear fog.png Someone must have a broken rear bumper lying around with the light...

All you need to know about cleaning the MAF viewtopic.php?f=25&t=36391

If you're not doing anything that could result in contamination then the only reason that the MAF might get dirty is if you're in the habit of following smoky diesels.

Re: LED lights - Legal?

I'm an amateur photographer so familiar with the concept of Lux and "illumination" as in how well something is lit. Recently I've been amazed by how poor many led batten lights are, while being sold to replace fluorescent tubes. They have seemingly impressive lumens but are totally crap at lighting ...

Re: Tyre Pressure Maintenance

A car without a spare wheel or repair kit, is perfectly roadworthy, until you have a puncture. *If* you carry a spare wheel then the tyre must be road legal and correctly inflated, the same as if it was fitted. In France (and some other countries) it's a legal requirement to carry spare bulbs, which...
