Re: Bleeding brakes etc
Worst case just take it and your own fresh fluid to a local garage. It's a quick, cheap task and not worth lots of your time ;) Sound advice. It's an easy job with the right tools and / or 2 people, so if you're struggling then just let someone else do it. In fact it's so simple that even on my 5 S...

Re: Double din stereo recommendation
What are peoples thoughts on the metra kit? I believe its pretty much the only option for the S1 and its something ive considered for quite a few years, but i keep reading that they are temperamental with the AC controls? Is this still the case or have they improved them over the years? Thanks Paul...

Re: Double din stereo recommendation
I've had an Xtron Chinese unit in mine. Used it for satnav and dab mostly but was able to download apps as required. Three things to note for the Xtron (and likely for all Chinese android units). 1 - the fascia is larger than a standard Metra kit. You can trim the Metra fascia or get a different fac...

Re: Back from the beyond - With a strange request!
3k will get you a decent rebuild. Once the engine is out you would probably want to start adding things like clutch, light flywheel etc. May as well as the engine is out and saves having it done again too soon after the rebuild as there's no /little extra labour involved.

Re: Back from the beyond - With a strange request!
I am sadly having to sell mine as we are leaving the country.
Whilst the and says less than 4k miles since rebuild, I have in fact really only done about 2,500 since the rebuild.

Ray will be terribly missed. I am pretty sure the term "diamond geezer" was coined for him. A fitting response from the club also, well done team. Condolences to the family. Farewell Ray!

Re: Metra kit, anything better?
I have a metra kit and went in after seeing how slow it was at changing the temperature / fan speed. Why? I knew that in my ownership of the car I barely ever change the a/c temp and its always on auto fan speed. So for the two times a year I change temps (summer to winter and back) I could live wit...

Re: SY09 VKM - White R3 - anyone here?
Hah - what a coincidence. I guess my friend is no longer looking at this car.
Good luck on the purchase - looked like a nice one.
On that note - anyone got a decent R3 with low mileage they want to sell?

SY09 VKM - White R3 - anyone here?
Hello all. Not sure where else to put this question but there's a car a friend could possibly be interested in.
White R3 reg SY09 VKM. Thought it best to check if the owner (or previous owner) is here to provide any history?
Thanks for your help.

Sadly not. I was asking a stupid question but found the answer before anyone managed to make me look a fool.
But also too late to delete my post. So thought it best to revise it and leave something cryptic instead

Re: **SAFETY ALERT: Fuel Tank recall - Fuel Leaks & Other Issues"
1. Have you received this recall notice? 2. Have you had the work completed? 3. If you have had the recall completed, which dealership did the work and roughly when? 4. If you have received the recall and not had the work done, what is your reason? 5. If you have had the work done, have you experien...

Re: Anyone installed one-touch passenger window?
I've wondered thr same about the 8. It would be very useful to have one touch on both sides. FWIW I have one touch up and down on the 5 series (and global open / close as described above). So it does exist.

Re: Are all metra kits created equal?
A quick FYI. In case anyone is looking to fit a Chinese android head unit then the facia from metra doesn't fit. The android units whilst double din, need an opening larger than standard double din from alpine, pioneer etc. Facials are available seperatrly on ebay etc which fit the Chinese units, it...
