Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Mine is my daily driver, I would of been fine with the setup of the RRP hand come along, but it could be a little annoying day in and day out.

Re: Flat spot on Kuro 2

I found the spring clips next to useless on the old hoses, I used decent jubilee clips when I changed my radiator, found I didn't have 1 big enough, so joined 2 together far more secure than the spring clips(which are essentially single use items)

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

I will have to let you know as I haven't done much driving since fitting, it is however quite civilised compared to the Borla. It would be quieter still without the racing beat exhaust manifold, but I don't want to be too quiet Borla and rrp 200cell sounds great [emoji23][emoji57]quite loud Sent fr...

Re: And another: Another new owner in Scotland

There isn't much that a decent non rotary mechanic couldn't tackle, so if you have a trusted mechanic you'll be ok, obdii diagnostics still work the same, the ECU still read/control the same information (fuel, spark, crank/eccentric shaft position) apart from the engine the rest of the car is just a...

Fitted RRP exhaust today (was Chris's) it's certainly quieter than the Borla that it replaced. Need to adjust my driving habits again

Re: Not starting..

Just remember a car needs to run for around 20 minutes just to put back the charge used to start it, not to mention the draw everything puts on the battery when the car is turned off, so even if you charge it, unless you go for some decent drives the battery will discharge again (unless you hook it ...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Just did the cx5 washer jets upgrade for anyone that's interested the part numbers are kd45-67-510 and kd53-67-510 only issue is the entry is from directly underneath, rx8 are from the side, but you can reroute the pipes and you don't need to cut anything, these jets won't block in a hurry

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Got the car to the garage today to get the coolant leak checked. One of the clips rusted away, got that replaced and sorted. Happy days. Starting to do my research on my rebuild and going to send some feelers out. Planning it for March, thinking of HME and TPS mainly. My rebuild was carried out by ...

Re: Flat spot on Kuro 2

The other option of course is to leave the hard pipe in place and cap the top off, at least you'll have a decent flange to bolt a block off plate to

Re: Flat spot on Kuro 2

I had issues removing my hard pipe as you mention Rob, I was dealing the manifold so I cut the hard pipe, removed the manifold, then I had free access to the little 10mm buggers. If your cutting the pipe removing the manifold isn't a massive job, certainly with a lift, I would imagine trying to seal...

Just try to move the actuator arm by hand (it's s little difficult to reach, but you should be able to reach it, even if you have to use a screwdriver it something to push against it)

It's possibly that whilst changing the coils you've managed to dislodge a vacuum pipe (the one under the throttle body is the most likely candidate)

Re: Flat spot on Kuro 2

Ssv issue, first check by hand if it will move freely, if it does then check the small vacuum pipes that join to it and the upper intake manifold (look for splits and any that are loose, including the 2 service nipple's that may have either a pipe and T piece or just a cap as any lose of vacuum will...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

My daily drive to work is 20 miles each way so ideal for keeping the battery charged, long enough to get fully up to temperature and I can stretch it's legs as well, probably getting 260 to a full tank give or take

I managed a 300 miles from one tank on a round trip from Coventry to Wells next the sea and back around June last year, non stop, although my bladder was filling up fast than the tank was emptying

The reason to disconnect the battery is to protect the ECU and other electrical items (like alternator regulator) from a spike that could fry them

Maybe some new or adjustable exhaust hangers, if you can raise the midpipe you may be able to get some more movement upwards

That is fairly low however you have to remember that compression is directly related to engine speed, so at tick over your compression would be significantly higher, that's why even a low compression engine doesn't feel down on power very often

I would back off the angle if you don't have any aero on the front, especially in this weather.
