Well today I purchased some waxoyl, in case there is time/room, will bring a few odds and ends with me as well in case they're needed, as well as a reasonable selection of tools. Will have a look to see what I can bring for the BBQ just to add a bit.

Re: Ceramic CATS and CAT recommendations

In the past I ran a ghetto decat, but the smell was just too much, when it came to mot time I fitted a killer cat from euro car parts, which passed no problem, I have since binned the ghetto and swapped to your mark 1 200 cell cat, still get pops (probably helped by the borla) no smell, no codes, ju...

Check with Tony as I *think* the service record should already show that fuel tank recall as cleared, because of the replacement parts.

Fairly sure he got a refund from mazda as he had receipts to prove the work had already been done

Last time I changed my cabin filters I got them from mazda main dealer about £18 I think, probably more an ebay or the likes of euro car parts, but even so still didn't brake the bank

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Fitted Ryan rotary engine mounts, took an hour, not bad consideration I had to top the oil up in my hydraulic jack first, well it is nearly 30 years old, see how these fell in the way to North Wales later.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Not me personally, but Nick swapped out my leaking rear main oil seal, inspected rear stationary bearing whilst replacing O ring, minimal wear with no copper showing (engine has about 25k on it since rebuild) so all I have to watch out for now is rust as the oil leak was doing a good job at keeping ...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

On the subject of parts, I ordered a rear main oil seal and the stationary housing o ring from mazda coventry(oil leak) 3 days to arrive and only £25 not bad service and oem parts, don't under estimate the abilities of main dealers for parts and not always that expensive.

A blob of toothpaste on the studs will leave a witness on the boot lid, if you mark up the approximate area with masking tape then use the blob of toothpaste method you can then measure from the edges to the witness to make sure its central and in the correct position

Could be your cars battery has an internal failure, like a short, you could (if you were really careful)disconnect the earth lead from the battery and connect jump pack to the positive terminal and the earth lead, then turn your ignition on to see if the dash lights up, this would take the battery ou...

Mick is a good guy, knows his stuff and will look after you, had my engine from him (yes it did have a bearing spin, but 20 months down the line he stuck by his warranty and rebuilt the engine, I'm now 14000 miles down the line and car runs fine)
