Re: Only 629 RX-8 R3's Left !!

Mine is getting SORN'd from next month since I don't drive it anymore. But it's still roadworthy.

Re: Another cat stolen.

Can someone please educate me, why are people willing to pay you £500 for a catalytic converter? What do they do with it after they've got it? My car is de-cat so I hope they don't attempt to butcher under my car thinking they're going to find something valuable! Mind you, my RB pipe wasn't cheap an...

Re: How many left?

Another issue I've just personally faced is if you get into an accident, the insurance company want to write off the car immediately without even seeing the damage! I had an accident 2 weeks ago, called up to report, I described the damage, and she said it's a write off. After a lot of heated discus...

Re: R3 oil usage query

Having owned both a S1 and an R3, the R3 uses slightly less oil. But it is subjective and never actually measured exactly how much I used.

Re: R3 Recall

Oh yeah they also did the video health check on mine and said I needed new rear discs and pads which I’ll be getting a second opinion on before I do anything.

Re: Genuine Mazda Brake Pads

Well I’m currently using Mintex and don’t have any complaints with the pads (only the discs), but I must admit I do have a thing for original parts.

Re: Genuine Mazda Brake Pads

Akebono supplied both Mazda and Ford while the RX8 was in production, so that would make sense, and it does ring a bell. These days they offer their "PROACT ULTRA PREMIUM CERAMIC PAD" as #ACT1009 (Front) and #ACT1008 (Rear) as OEM replacement for the RX8 It certainly wasn't Guangzhou Jiali Auto Par...

Does anyone know which company makes the brake pads for Mazda? I’ve been led to believe that’s it’s Blue Print but I’m not convinced :-k

Re: compression test results opinions

LC Rotary are a trusted specialist here, I doubt they would be willing to damage their reputation over a dodgy compression test and £1900 worth of car. Those results are pretty good anyway, better than my R3.

Wheel nuts torque setting

Hi all, I’m going to be swapping to my summer wheels shortly and just wondered if anyone knew the correct torque setting for the R3’s 21mm wheel nuts? First time I’m doing it myself.

You can email that address. He was very helpful when I was trying to get my RB Decat pipe, even though I wasn’t ordering from him.

Has anyone had this recall done in or around Leeds area? I notice Andy had it done at Huddersfield which isn't a million miles away, and now they can't claim they've never seen an Rx-8 before!

Re: Best exhaust for the R3

As you say, sound and looks are subjective and comes down to what you're happy with and what fits within your budget. I'll be inspecting my exhaust system at the beginning of the summer to see how winter has affected it, just hoping it doesn't look the picture's above!
