Re: ….well this is awkward….
I’ve done 22k in the EV6 now. Things to note. Cold weather impacts range significantly. Below freezing ambient temperatures drop the predicted range from 320 miles plus to 250 miles. In cold weather short journeys are way worse than long. My hypothesis on this is that longer journeys bring the batte...

Re: ….well this is awkward….
The cost comparisons on my one work like this. If I charge at work it costs me 8.5p a mile. I average about 4 miles per kWh. My old Peugeot 107 would do 11 miles per litre of fuel. At £1.40 a litre that was 14p a mile. If I charge at home on economy 7 electricity (10p per kWh) each mile costs 2.5p. ...

Re: ….well this is awkward….
Well, due to a range of circumstances, I’ve just done 10,000 miles in this since April. It’s very good at distances and it has cost about 50% (just under) of what it would have cost in my previous daily driver (a Peugeot 107!). No problems getting charged anywhere I have been and topping off on free...

Re: ….well this is awkward….
Well, after a few days of ownership, it’s rather good. I will say this, it is good to drive, effortless in terms of driving effort and performance. It’s not as interactive or I guess as characterful as an internal combustion engine but it’s good in a different way. It’s particularly cheap though, 10...

So, it’s been a while since I have posted, however, the RX8 is in one piece and is getting closer to actually working. However in the meantime I may have had a rush of blood to the head and done something a little foolish. Tomorrow I pick up this. (Spy shot at the dealers today as it is charging up)...

I saw Clive's car there, but I didn't realise Malcolm and Ian were there too! I was with another car club catching up with people I haven't seen for months and getting pictures of old Land Rovers and stuff.

I spoke to Aston on the phone at the weekend. Mine's been there for a while but it was good to get hold of him but I've known him for long enough to trust him with my car.

Re: R3 / S2 Forced Induction
It wouldn't make it past 7000 rpm. The supercharger wouldn't flow enough air to rev and it would probably make less power. depends on the charger chap https://www.eaton.com/gb/en-gb/catalog/engine-solutions/tvs-r900.specifications.html Yes, I know, but if it's not revving past 7000 rpm it's likely ...

Diesel absorbs water so probably not.
To get it off the brakes you should just need a few applications from a reasonable speed.

Re: DSC modes
The Fault message is to cover Mazda's back, that's when it is fully off and won't come back on. Pressing the button once means you can pull a smokey wheelspin start but it will come back on if the yaw detector thinks you're being a fool! Holding the button in until the system thinks there is a fault...

Bearings gone, witness marks, burrs on the rotors.
Doesn't sound like much of that engine will be useful.

5100-ish Honda S2000s with 1800-ish SORN. There is a definite seasonal oscillation with these though!
Over 10000 Toyota MR2s mostly the new model though!
There are more RX8s than Rover/Austin Maestros though.

The ones being pulled apart are probably SORN'd. Possibly any sitting at car dealers are too! It's not much fun considering there were 20,000 plus a few years ago!

Intakes seem to get you at Brands, AEMs in particular seem to trip the noise meters, I think they've got a stringent drive-by meter.

The thread linked above will give you access to the Mazda Workshop guide. In the suspension section, look for the rear crossmember removal guide!
Hope that's useful!

There may be a lower risk of flooding the engine if you shut down on a cold start, but only if the car is mapped fully to compensate for this. Otherwise

I’d look at the pump since the injectors and the wide and are usually pretty bulletproof.

Re: A complete newbie attempts to fix P0171 (pending codes P2096/P2270)
P0171 codes are a pain to chase down. However it could be that the fuel pump is dying and the lean condition is down to it being unable to supply the required fuel pressure. The car revs fine and idles fine, when I press the clutch the fuel system goes from closed to open and that's when the engine...
