Re: New Guy looking for a RX8

:whathesaid: That gives pretty much the right amount of time for the ECU to do it's pre-flight checks and for the airbag light to go out.

Re: New safety recall notice - fuel tank

I got a recall notice today (or yesterday), haven't opened it yet, but I'd guess this is what it is ... I thought it was probably a repeat of the passenger airbag recall that I've neglected/put off having done for over a year too.

Congratulations =D> If he didn't already post it somewhere upthread I'm sure Shaggy will be along shortly with the new-buyers guide. I'd better do that right now I guess Have a good read through whatever in the FAQ section you didn't already read :study: and then (and just ignore me if you know all ...

Just to let you know, even if you can't confirm here just turn up, there is room for everybody and we don't have to book a table (they let us have the function room if there isn't a function happening - and if there is a function they set aside an area in the restaurant for us). :thumleft:

Re: Another new member - Prospective owner !

Hi and :welcome: Angvl. :D Finding one with no rust is definitely the way to go - I wouldn't make needing an engine rebuild a deal breaker personally ... as long as the price for the car was right. A rebuild from a trusted specialist (we can point you in the right directions for that) would be about...

Not quite sure when they changed the date, but the Beaulieu Car Show is now on Sunday 26th July :thumleft:

Have you contacted "jon1234 (John)(Maria)(RX-8) - PAIDx2" from MRC to make sure they know?

That's not good, sod's law strikes #-o - we've got this coming Tuesday for the Feb meet. If Tuesdays are out for you, how about the Surrey meet in Cobham (first Wednesday of every month) or is that a bit too far?

Re: r3 what tyres, 235/40/19 or 245/40/19 plus brand?

I know on the S1 we can safely use 235/40/18 and 245/40/18 instead of the standard 225/45/18 without going too far from the original rolling radius and the 235 and 245, as well as being a little wider so looking a little better are also cheaper to buy. I'd guess you can do the same on the R3, but wi...

Re: Clutch Judder and vibration.

Here is a theory that may be complete :censored: Is it possible the revs have dropped quite a bit between gears so, if they've managed to get below 4k, with the lack of low down torque it is just taking a while to get back towards the optimum where it will continue accelerating - the revs do tend to...

Re: New Guy looking for a RX8

I would get Luke to do it rather than a Mazda garage to be honest. Got any details for him and where he’s based? He was in Guildford but I think he's moved recently - but he is mobile and will go anywhere. He is easiest to contact on Facebook I think https://www.facebook.com/Murdochs-Rotary-Special...

Hi and :welcome: Cconnor95. :D .... As to the NC 500, this was the comment from one of our members, but sums up all the comments I've read about Club organised NC500 runs, "I went on the last 3 (2015, 2016 and 2018) and they were the best thing I've done in the RX-8 in the 12 years since I bought it...

Re: LED lights - Legal?

Aftermarket LED rear light clusters are available for the S1 and should be an MOT fail, but I've yet to hear of anyone having this issue. I have these (with smoked glass 8) ) and MOTs have not been a problem at all - I know from following other S1s with these fitted that they are a lot easier and s...

Hi and :welcome: cjwinty :D It doesn't look bad at all so hopefully it will be something easily fixed causing the misfire and rough running ( :whathesaid: ....and my money is on the coils/ignition being at least a part of the problem).

Hi and :welcome: Dave. :D I'd think MightyCondor's car will fit the bill nicely, from what I've seen he does take good care of his cars and you can't go far wrong at the price he's asking anyway ... just as an extra something so you can be absolutely sure what you're looking at (and I don't think an...
