Re: And another: Another new owner in Scotland

Hi and :welcome: Kuro 335 :D I think Rotary Revs is the specialist closest to Scotland (according to this map showing known specialists at least https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1m1OIXXDLa5Lhu1I7tW0QhyuMMQY&ll=51.866487191959635%2C-1.2159255343333797&z=6 ), but there are some individuals who...

Re: New guy.. but no RX8 yet.. :(

I think I might beat shagrington to this one, (but I'm sure he'll be here soon with the guide post ;)) but be sure to look at the buyers guide and the wealth of information here on the forum, and if you chose to become a paid member, there are all the technical documents, discounts, group events an...

Re: New Rx8 owner

Hi and :welcome: Yozhek :D Well done on finding a good one - and only 41k miles too. There's nothing wrong with a good 190, there really isn't much difference between that and a 230 on the road and the 190 is actually a bit better to drive in town. Have a good read through whatever in the FAQ sectio...

Re: Advice of fitting window deflector

One of the few things I did myself 8) - my mate was going to help me ... he hadn't finished tying his boot laces before I had them fitted. It was a warm day, so maybe that helped, but it was also surprisingly easy.

Re: Possible purchase. Need advice please.

If you can't find someone local (there is a list of known specialists here https://www.rx8ownersclub.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=36531 ) try Luke Murdoch (Murdoch's Rotary Specialist - there is a link to his Facebook page there) - he is mobile and will travel anywhere in the country and I'm pre...

Hi and :welcome: Dave993T4. :D Looks like you have had good advice already (and I would seriously consider getting one from bigpete in your position). When you have one just look in most of the 'hello I'm new' threads and you will find my short list of tips for keeping it running sweetly.

Re: Newbie Looking for a RX8

Hi and :welcome: Christian. :D Rust is definitely the main issue to look out for, so find one without rust (or just a bit of surface rust you can treat early maybe) and you should be fine. Have you read the Buyers Guide? https://www.rx8ownersclub.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=24047 Better still t...

Re: first time buyer help

Hi and :welcome: Rick. :D I believe swapping a 190 into a 231 (or vice versa) isn't impossible but takes a lot of work as, although they are basically the same engine, there are some physical differences so it is very unlikely that will have happened. I don't think that is something you need worry a...

Re: 2007 Auto RX-8 won't rev past 7500

Hi and :welcome: crteezy. :) As as already been said, the Autos were 192s, so the rev limit is 7500 ... it can be raised with a mini-map, but I don't know if that has been (or can be) done with an Auto.
