Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

I have noticed today just how on top of the driving you have to be in an 8. I use 3 other cars regularly and after switching to 79398 for the afternoon from wallowing about in the Jeep for a few days (and being a bit tired) it really took some effort to both keep the speed reasonable and concentrate...

Re: Announcement: New recall for R3s

Fingers crossed that's all sorted now John. I'll be ordering a new fuel pump and will collect it well ahead of time when I finally get the recall done. It's a sad state of affairs that taking a car back to a manufacturer for a safety recall (at the manufacturers own insistence) is such a fraught ex...

Re: Running Costs - some examples

I mean, we probably all spend more than we "need" to on our 8's, I changed sparkplugs when I got the car 18 months ago, and recently changed them again after only around 6k miles driving.... But if you consider the very basics (which is what most non-"car" people do) such as fue...

Re: New owner

Thanks for the advice. Not looking to get my money back. Just looking to have a car that justifies the money it costs to keep. And I hope this is it. Had an MX6 I loved, regret selling that. But that was about 16 years ago! Don't want to regret giving up on the rx8 in another 16 years. I like the i...

Re: New owner

If your looking for a car to be a sensible project that you may be able to recoup any spend on then this is the wrong car. Replacing the ignition system, full belt and filter service, Oils and brakes and theres easily 1K in parts, and that's essential work so no money to recoup there. MPG will go fr...

Re: Running Costs - some examples

Rotary running costs are absolutely horrific and is probably THE worst bang for buck for a car there is. There's very few cars out there that offer worse bang for buck, let's call a spade a spade BUT if you love the rotary you'll put up with it. I daily drove mine for seven years and I'd hate to th...

Re: Announcement: New recall for R3s

The problem with recalls is that the main dealer has to be used when any sane owner would rather stick pins in their eyes than go anywhere near them.
I would also never buy a car with a "full main dealer service history " god could you imagine....

I do keep 3 bottles in stock just in case though. Fancy parting with 1 of these spare bottles for some Dinosaur juice tokens? Quite fancy trying this one myself or the protek R. Having just been told the shipping cost on the Protek then perhaps not.... I don't know if you premix or not. I think the...

Re: Rex46

I recommend Idemetsu Racing Rotary Premix it's made specifically for the engine. 20ml per 10 litres straight in the tank. You can get it from Essex Rotary delivered at a frequency to suit your mileage. I get a bottle per quarter and you set up a direct debit with them so don't need to give it a thou...

I'll let the other mods have a look and decide if this is the best title and new home.
I'm guessing it should be somewhere else as it can't be added to?

M3 Top bracket
RR54 Lower bracket
TN07 Top bracket

One will definitely be going, possibly two but which will it be?
My Guess
RR54
If 2 go you will be left with M3

Re: Announcement: New recall for R3s

Ive just had another letter this weekend about not having had mine done yet. Also, I do not want to leave my car with them for 2 days and this 1 day possibility is much more appealing. Don't use Mazda Cheshire Oaks they are clueless. I may have to do it in Oxford then as Pentraeth are even worst. I...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

It depends on the area, at the moment I dont specifically need an RX8 specialist. Though they would obviously know the car better in general as a car. I am about to pull the suspension off and fit the Eibach pro kits and 20mm spacers. Will need a fast road set up after. I was thinking of seeing if ...
