Re: New guy.. but no RX8 yet.. :(
Very tidy for 46k miles. The V-Power may have made a difference just because it was fresh, as the car had only done 3.5k miles in the last 13 months, so may have had some stale fuel in the tank. That's more miles than BOTH of my RX8s put together. I wonder if anyone from Cornwall needs me to pick u...

....and don't forget to change your RX8 status to 'owner'.
I spent days just looking at my cars when I first got them. And cleaning them slowly by hand shows you every shape on the body.

Re: Flat spot on Kuro 2
I found the spring clips next to useless on the old hoses, I used decent jubilee clips when I changed my radiator, found I didn't have 1 big enough, so joined 2 together far more secure than the spring clips(which are essentially single use items) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/9pc-Hose-Clamp-clip-Set-...

Re: Flat spot on Kuro 2
Hello all, went for a blast this morning and full power is now resumed, goes like stink. The only issue is a small coolant leak by the stat somewhere, hardly surprising given the amount of hoses in there. The upside is,i now know in which order to do things to get to it quickly. Annoyingly i was toyin...

Yes Alistair,i have piccies of the one i removed but will have to wait for my lad to upload them, being the dinosaur that i am. As a matter of interest, what air the gains from having air pump delete, apart from weight and space? . As i managed to not break anything,i now have the choice of either or,...

That's a result! Did you get any pictures of the SSV itself? Was it properly gunked up or was it seized somewhere else?

Re: Not starting..
That is a good solution. I did a similar thing with the PZ. I just ran a standard extension lead from my garage to the car and kept everything covered with the bonnet. The 192 and PZ are parked top and tail so the 192 extension lead is at the wrong end of the car and would be a trip hazard if I move...

Re: Not starting..
I use the Ctek MXS 5.0 which is easy to use. It has a connector which you can permanently attach to your battery terminals and poke the end of it between the battery cover and the airbox. I've also bought two alternate connectors which have a traffic light display to show charge level. There's a cha...

I used to play golf with a chap who claimed to be an agnostic atheist. He also was a self-proclaimed xenophobic Luddite but that is a whoooooooole different ball game.

Re: Tools, tools, tools (was Thumb Ratchets)
I don’t think Vactan has any particular penetrating properties so my suggestion regarding the rusty nuts would be to just spray with the XCP at each service. My thinking behind the Vactan was partly to change the look of the finish - away from rusty brown and back to black - and then using the XCP ...

Re: Tools, tools, tools (was Thumb Ratchets)
Ah, thank you. I did read somewhere that it could be sprayed on and buffed which I had hoped would help reduce the likelihood of grot sticking. I bought the aerosol spray can for a finer film but haven't used it because I had planned to do the tyre valves first and then spray valves and nuts. More t...

Told Mrs Smutty about the impact driver purchase. She's decided to intercept the Amazon delivery driver, confiscate the item and wrap it up for my birthday.
My birthday isn't until the middle of March.
Where on Earth did I find this woman?

I have just done 130 miles on half a tank in the PZ. Kind of creeping up towards the 300 club. On a different note, brand new brake discs feel good.

Great buy here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07D3X5V25/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 There is a deal of the day (7 hours to go at the time of writing) plus 15% off the ORIGINAL price which brings this to just under £60. I like Tacklife stuff and have a few of their tools. ...

I didn't see it. It would be specific to the model of 2 stroke tank he used which is understandable. viewtopic.php?f=204&t=50241&p=704096&hilit=tank#p704096

Just found it - thank you. Using card as a template for the mount is a good idea. I'll take a look at my engine bay in the morning and think his solution is inspired.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
I'll go back to the power 1 bottle and squirt it straight in. I don't go for precision, as long as I know its at least 150ml to a tank (it's more as I'll add that to a 3/4 fill) - the more the merrier, especially when I'm thrashing it. That was my thinking: a dirty great squirt and a rough guesstim...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
I am currently playing with ideas for a SOHN/COF tank and don't want to lose the huge windscreen washer tank. My first thought was one type of motorcycle 2 stoke tank but the one I got was too wide at the bottom. I've had a good look at the 192 engine bay and the only decent place I can see to place...
