Re: Yorins Definitely Stable Financial Decision I Swear

Yeah my plugs were definitely fuel washed. I was expecting at least some excess oil/fuel of some description. Giving it a tow start should definitely get it going though. I gave the plugs a dip in some iso and the carbon on them was pretty soft anyway so once the engine fires and gets upto temp it s...

Re: Yorins Definitely Stable Financial Decision I Swear

Not yet Rob. Currently awaiting my friend to come up so we can tow the car down my track (full of pot holes) and onto the road to give a tow/bump start a go. Which should be the ticket. I couldn't see anything coming out the spark holes whilst turning it over to deflood it but that doesn't mean it w...

Re: Yorins Definitely Stable Financial Decision I Swear

I was actually looking at that exact device John.. How intriguing ahah. Currently I'm stuck as the postage for wire costs 3x more than 4 metres of wire costs... Seems logical I guess? Also in a conundrum about paying the customs ransom... Which I shouldn't have to pay!

Re: Yorins Definitely Stable Financial Decision I Swear

Sooo current plans to tow start the car whenever my friends available. Got a 4 pin brake switch off BigPete and customs are currently holding my buttons ransom for £22... When it should be a gift below £39... So going to look into that and hope I can avoid the charges... But apparently Parcel Force ...

Re: Any interest in my 06'

It's gone above £600 now? Dammit. I think so Think those figures are pay monthly possibly? A quick search turned up £580 for post 06 and £330 for pre 06. The only difference between what makes one lower/higher btw is the fact that legislation changed. Both pre06 and post 06 cars are the same insofa...

Re: The search for a working engine

Without a comp test it's a bit of a risk. Also depending on the angle of the impact to the car its also a risk. As rotary engines don't deal well with direct frontal or rear collisions! Though if the engine had taken a shunt I doubt it would be running happily.

Goopy seals are a nono if I'm not mistaken. They destroy housings meaning any refurb work on housings/new housings would be wasted.

Re: Just bought a RX-8 nemesis and have code P0420

I think that code can also relate to longish motorway drives where the car actually gets a proper chance to check the cats efficiency if I'm not mistaken? Some people get it once (had it once myself) turn it off and then never see it again without the cat being dead.

Something to aim for maybe.... My car's stablemate at the moment; a 410 bhp monster that Dale says I could have easily do as well. If the copper washer looks like it's not too thin reuse it. I replaced mine because I got a bag of however many for dirt cheap so in my mind it was just a "do it whilst there" but the old washer was quite serviceable.

Re: Looking to buy an RX8 - Never owned one before

Hi Andy, first things first. Figure out what version of the car you like! Theres the Series 1 (with a few special editions, Prodrive Z, Evolve, Nemesis and 40th anniversary) or the Series 2 (R3). With the amount of money you're looking to spend you can't really go wrong. Personally I'd find a good c...

Looks good Keni. Can't wait to hear it sometime. :p I'm going to dissect my spare set of lights sometime soon and get all the measurements of the silver parts.. then try and put them into a CAD program of some sort and see if I can come up with a design that would look a bit nicer... With some LEDs ...
