Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

You'd be surprised at how small a movement needs to be to be abrasive with the slightest amount of dirt. The same very small movement that you may not notice over and over again is what'd wear through paint eventually.

Re: Lower seating options

If you have heated leather seats (which I will guess is likely) you could try grabbing a cloth drivers seat. And possibly a fixed mounting position directly to the floor if you still want to go lower. Though at 5ft10" I'd imagine dropping 2-3 inches on seating position would leave you just about pok...

Surely if Mazda and VOSA do nothing then those affected would make up a class of people whom could take action against Mazda for their failures?

:welcome: to the South living Ollie  😂 I don't mind paying higher insurance. But not almost what I paid for the car and as if I basically had 0 no claims bonus! As it stands my insurance runs out on the 1st of Feb. Was going to change my address to here but as the car is still in scotland ...

Re: Insurance Quotes

Figured I'd have a look at normal insurance quotes for the 8 on the new address.. Gocompare came out to the 500 quid mark a year (up 200 quid from Scotland..) directline however? £1111.. Ehm.. Sorry what? 😂 5 years no claim bonus and you're tripling the quote you gave me last year because my address...

There is in the technical documentation that you get access to with club membership. Tis worth it if you're on the fence about it. Otherwise it's probably trawling through google results to possibly find it.

Re: Remove Rear Wheel Arch Liners

Either the JDM cars had them and they were defacto removed by owners perhaps before they got imported? Or they never had them to begin with. I remember someone mentioning before of other makes of cars in snowy markets not having material based liners/owners removing them from the cars to prevent rus...

Re: Remove Rear Wheel Arch Liners

Unless the rust needs immediate tending to I'd put it as something to do for spring personally. Vactan doesn't operate below 5ish degrees. I think it says on it somewhere ideally it should be around 15 to 20 degrees for optimum drying times of an hour ish?

Re: Remove Rear Wheel Arch Liners

I looked at this a few years ago when optimising a turbo conversion. Liners may look simple but that’s deceptive. Designers put some effort in, not least because 25-30% of drag comes from the wheel wells. Liners are there not just to protect the wing from stones, dirt and water, with front ones pro...

Re: Remove Rear Wheel Arch Liners

Uh. Mostly. There's a few plastic nut like things that are a pain to take off. And a bung that looks like a bolt head but isn't which will just go around for days.. I also just cut a slit in them to get them past the abs wiring. Otherwise it doesn't really take long to do.

Re: Remove Rear Wheel Arch Liners

Removed mine last year not that Ive driven the car a lot. Goodeggbob removed his previously as well. They are meant to remove road noise I guess? But any market bar the UK that sees snow doesn't seem to have them/owners remove them because they just cause rust issues... Which makes sense. Sopping we...

Re: R3 Sohn

They are popular on the S1 due to lower oil rates (this can be mapped higher) and less oil reaching the chamber where it needs to go. Something the R3s system was designed to address. With two extra injectors aiming to where the S1s injectors weren't getting oil the problem of oil not getting where ...

Re: R3 Sohn

I mean, Mazda did things for cost reduction sure. But they wouldn't have released a car that didn't function. Like I've said and others have you're trying to find a solution to something you don't particularly need to solve. That's up to you obviously. I'm personally yet to hear of an R3 owner havin...

Re: R3 Sohn

As far as the R3 goes the extra injector and I think different oil rate made up for the potential issues the S1 may have had due to only 2 injectors/a driven mechanical OMP. Personally I wouldn't seek to change whats not broken... Theres nothing particularly wrong with burning semi synth or mineral ...
