Re: RRP Semi PP engine - one step closer- update 1 April

If you manage 4k out the door with the custom manifold and a street port Carl that'll be even more value than you already offer! Looking forward to seeing the results once everythings together and brapping like no tomorrow! :p

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Let's face it if it's not an R3 in VR then the value of the vehicle is pretty low in the first place! As long as it looks reasonably similar who cares! Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk Exactly Tom! Plus it'll only be VR until I can manage to get it resprayed to Midnight Purple anyway. Ahahah.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Yeah I know it'll never match. But as I can't afford a full respray to the colour I want right now. (can get it done with free labour but the time it'd take would be down to me doing prep and then the guy actually spraying) so it's just going to have to be as good of a match as possible. I'm sure th...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Alright cool. May have to repaint my passenger wing. I do have two people who would spray it for me with proper setups. One would be free the other would have a cost attached.. But I might consider rattle can to do it myself. as well as that would turn out.

Ooft. Where did you get that VR rattle can from Chris? Is it the ones you mentioned before where its identical to the original Mazda paint so applied without primer if used on body panels?

Re: Notchy gear shifts – new engine mounts?

The thing about the RRP mounts if I am not mistaken is that if they were to fail its just an insert that gets replaced and not the entire mount. Where as OEM you'd be replacing the whole mount every time.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Also whilst taking my wheels off and rotating them. There are slight flat points where the ground under them is uneven due to being hardcore stone. Maybe indentations of about half a mill or so. Probably scrub off when it hits tarmac I'd imagine?

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Plenty of options from what I'm seeing. :p I'll have a browse about. Spotted a small amount of rust on the rear passenger arch on the sill as well. Or rather the paints showing a bit of rust.

How do you remove the piece of plastic trim that runs the length of the sill by the way?

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Also a good option. Where can I purchase replacements of those? I'm sure I've seen someone mention it before. I also had a quick look at the cat from a distance as I only had the one corner jacked up. And sadly I don't think its OEM. :( Oh well guess that just means saving up a substantial amount be...

Ight I'll give the screwdriver a go tomorrow if it's nice weather James.

You think so? Completely new wing then since that one's been badly repainted before. So cleaning up that rust I'd have it repainted anyway. VR matching issues though.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Figured as it's the first day of isolation for me and its sunny and not windy out. That I'd take the wheels off the 8 and have a peak under the arch liners.. However on the passenger side this has happened! received_1398989560275729.jpeg Also noticed some rust at the bottom of my passenger wing. Onl...

Sticking NA or going Turbo Ranjan? I can't remember if you made a decision about what engine was going to be in it.

Re: Good riddance

Meanwhile... We have a lovely oil war going on... I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw petrol at just £1.07 a litre... Makes premium £1.12~ for tesco momentum.. Compared to the £1.33 I was paying last year at around this time... Thats quite a big difference. Ridiculous really.

From what I understand there is the possibility of reordering. Unless I missed something. The price would just be higher. However Ryan Rotary Performance also offer a set of oil cooler pipes for a lot less than 700 quid. https://www.ryanrotaryperformance.com/shop/mazda-rx8-oil-cooler-lines viola. D...

Re: MOT's extended for 6 months

Fortunate for me.. The focus' MOT is April 15th. I now won't have to get the MOT redone until October time. There's nothing seriously wrong other than the need to change a rear bearing which is a tad noisy. But when I get around to checking the bearing for play in the next nice bit of available good...

Re: New cat time

Maybe get some MDF/Wood of some description and some metal to top it with. Thats what I've been considering as we don't really have any level ground due to everything being hardcore stone/gravel on our parking area. Whenever I've used Jackstands in the past I'll say finding somewhere level enough to...
