Re: Honkytonk's Black P-Shed

I'm bored at work and I thought it'd be interesting to go all the way back to my first post and have a look at what needs sorting on this to give me a plan for my next year of ownership, presuming it's not 90% quarantine... 1. Limited Service History - Previous owner had the car for ~6months before ...

Re: Honkytonk's Mighty '99 Vectra B 1.8 (Club)

It has the benefit of being juuuuust close enough to Southampton but far enough away from places like Bournemouth/Poole which are a nuisance to get to.

Neither, that's the generic Salisbury Postcode I use when searching on Autotrader.

Re: Honkytonk's Mighty '99 Vectra B 1.8 (Club)

My very unhelpful friend sent me this on Autotrader , which is incredibly tempting, albeit not the X30XE I would like. As a donor it'd be almost perfect (barring the engine size and colour), and I could even drive it for 9 months until it gets re-assembled onto my car and the rest parted out. Admitt...

You could just update the Vectra instead Duncan
Take that opinion Nige , go sit outside this thread, and think about what you've done.

Re: Honkytonk's Mighty '99 Vectra B 1.8 (Club)

Yeah I would rather have a V6 than a 4 pot turbo, bit more special. I get enough turbine noises from the 8! I'm hoping I can find one of the X30XE's from the Omega as it's the same engine (with same mounts!) that went in the 2.5l Vectra but bored out. Drop it in and swap the ECU and there we are, jo...

I bought some new tyre valve caps. And won an auction on a pair of rocking horse shi7s PZ centre caps. I only need one so will stick the other up on here for those of you who like me are short of a singular. :thumright:

Re: Honkytonk's Mighty '99 Vectra B 1.8 (Club)

As I'm bored at home in quarantine, and fear the Vectra is feeling a tad unloved after being laid up for two months now, I have been prowling the internet for more ideas. This was not sensible... I'm now seriously considering an engine swap for either one of the GM V6's or a Saab Turbo lump. They're...

Re: First time RX-8 owner

I've had four fully grown men in mine with no problems for space. Two of them were pissed and in the back so were basically children. It's a proper 2+2 with more space than you'd think, isofix and easy to clean seats. Family car. Phrase it in the way I did "I could have got a 2 seater..." and they c...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Started it up for possibly the first time this year with the intention of doing a compression test. The accelerator pedal however is not working and when it gets warm it starts auto-revving up and down. Can I put this down to its current lack of steering wheel or potentially another issue? I had a ...

Re: REQUESTING DIY VIDEOS FOR OC YOUTUBE CHANNEL

I do think if one person's video is submitted and is serviceable but missing information or footage, and another is later submitted which uses the original as a base and adds the information required, there's no problem with that - we may either upload the new one as an 'Updated' version alongside t...

Re: Honkytonk's Black P-Shed

Despite a minor snafu I fixed a sticky caliper I had on the driver's side this weekend. During shakedown decided I should try and work out if my pops and bangs are controllable in the new exhaust setup or if it's just a roll of the dice. Turns out after about 10m of driving at 4.5k+ to heat up the ...

Won a front bumper on eBay for 99p! Probably just as bad if not worse than mine but means I can bugger about with it to test some ideas out. M12 x 1.5 thread pitch is what you need.
I've got one that's 35mm long.
Sorry for lateness of response, away from t'internet

It's a 14mm end the one I have but I don't rightly care, long as it tightens up!
