Re: 2020 Annual Meet/AGM Weekend - Three Sisters Race Circuit Sat 29th Feb and Sun 1st March **Hotel Bookings Closed**

Anybody got any idea about the price of bread at the hotel? Just wondering if I should pop in to tescos for a loaf before the agm dinner. I had made up with myself that I had to work and alas would not be able to go. I was annoyed about this but had come to terms with it. Then something like this p...

Re: How to use cataclean?

The amount of 2T you're using in average tank as premix (150-175mls in 60L, so about 50-60mls in the last 20L or so) means the concentration is so low it's unlikely to have an effect on the Cataclean at a chemical level. And Cataclean is designed to burn alongside fuel (just as the decent racing 2T ...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

The engine was street ported with the rebuild, which will give lower readings on compression generally. So dyno done, plus tuning. Getting 221bhp, so All of us delighted. After the dyno I asked for a compression test, which came in at mid to high 6's on all faces. Great with street port. They also ...

Re: Salisbury Car Fest, Sunday 3rd May 2020

Unfortunately the Committee will be at a Meeting that day :( - Events Team Bloody committee! Meeting and such! You'd think they're trying to actively improve the club! I'm out. Wedding venue tasting day is booked in. Sorry. Let me know what the curtains are like. I'll tell the council 4, that's how...

Little bit of bumpage for this as I'll talk to council by end of week. Please post if you are even thinking of attending so I can try and get us a decent sized pitch.

On the bench still, not in the car, but progress has been made. https://i.ibb.co/mhNNLN3/IMG-20200214-230608972-2.jpg Yes it's upside down (software fix)), yes it could be neater at the bottom of the screen, but I'm happy with that for the moment. And Mrs H said I could work on it as we don't do any...

Re: Possible RX-8 purchase

For that money, even if it's a heap it'd be worth more than that in bits you pull off. Do it. I promise you it'll be the best £430 you'll spend. Why 430? Because if when you buy it I'd highly recommend becoming a club member, as we get discounts on lots of stuff, Group buys, and you get access to ev...

Received my SORN cheque in the post today, and immediately spent it on a new exhaust. One of the nicer Irmscher bits of the old GSI Trim.

Salisbury Car Fest, Sunday 3rd May 2020

I've been contacted by Salisbury Council Events Team inviting us back to Salisbury Car Fest . This was good fun last year, a good variety of rare metal on display and the council were happy to have engines revved in the city centre. Being May rather than September, I have no idea if the weather is g...

I have a feeling if you buy the Camry Sedition in Russia you'll mysteriously disappear or die after eating some sushi.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Stupid question from an unobservant muppet - does the passenger PZ wingmirror heat up when you put the rear window heater on? I noticed this morning defrosting the car only the driver's side did and I can't remember ever noticing if the passenger side one did.

Re: Honkytonk's Mighty '99 Vectra B 1.8 (Club)

I'm sat in a terribly dull meeting that I have no input to and don't really need to be in, so am being really professional on a Friday and getting some Vectra Research done instead. If I had infinite money and time I think I'd love to go down this route (particularly as the wingmirrors look like PZ ...

Re: Rust Treatment : where to go?

To be contrary here, I do think that's a legitimate option if you're in need of welding as well. I didn't realise they had appeared on PH, but a friend of mine who has about 5 land rovers at any one time has used them in the past and rates them highly, and they were in my list of possibles. I'll per...

Re: Rust Treatment : where to go?

Thats sadly the reality with getting rust repairs done. Sometimes its hard/impossible to gauge how much their is. If half the chasis needs cutting out/replacing then of course its going to cost a small fortune. Tis why getting a clean RX8 is the best route to go even if the engine goes pop. *puts f...
