Re: My BMW i8 replacing my M3 V8 and R3 RX8
Yes I think it's more than likely the estimated annual miles of 5k in comparison to the 15k of the mercedes contributes. But also the part replacement cost. A genuine wing and headlight for my E class is quite eye watering, luckily I found that out from a friend and not because I required one. Try ...

Re: My BMW i8 replacing my M3 V8 and R3 RX8
Interesting the insurance is triple though.... the rx8 being the cheapest of the 3 cars to insure, I do feel offsets the horrendous tax. You are mistaken in what you say above Drew as the M3 was the cheaper car to insure at c£275 My R3 is the cheaper of mine, both Mercedes are nearly 1/3 more again...

Re: Harry's GL04 MXU Project Banana!
The damaged rubber on the outside of the seal was caused by incorrect fitting cutting the material on the sharp edge of the housing and distorting the seal. The increased pressure against the flywheel adaptor surface would cause wear on the seal and the subsequent oil leak. Rather than the seal bein...

Re: Harry's GL04 MXU Project Banana!
That certainly suggests the rear main seal has failed, or possibly its coming from the gearbox. It does look more like engine oil and I guess if it was gearbox oil you would have recognised the smell. The clutch plate is going to be soaked in oil so you will need to replace that and then its just a ...
