Re: Rx8 Series 1 flat bottom steering wheel

I can pay you now if you wish. I am in Cheltenham and whilst there is no urgency from my aspect my daughter lives in Christchurch and is coming up to visit next Wednesday evening so if you are over near her before then.

Re: RR54 Back to a red

Working on prepping the car pending Luke coming next wednesday to swap out the subframes but keep sidetracking myself doing other little jobs. Painted the exhaust shrouds gloss black to match the Mazdaspeed skirts. The front repeaters had taken on aquarium status. I think I will try my orange ones i...

James left with a spanner for an afternoon.. Im surprised mayhem didn't ensue!
At least unlike Bennie he didn't go out to get a spanner and was never seen again!

Re: RR54 Back to a red

I recall that Tony said that engine needed a strip and rebuild, so that's all to be expected. Goopy seals do tend to be much harder on all the surfaces that they contact and there's a fail amount of evidence for that. Do you know how many miles it had been? The water in the inlet is strange but the...

Re: RX54 My 231

The 585s should work fine without the remap so 'just dropping them in and seeing if it starts' is a reasonable test. You can get a remap to potentially get 'a bit more' out of them (longer charge window = stronger spark?) but it isn't vital, and would need to be unmapped if you changed to e.g. Mazd...

Re: Pit project

Hi I need to reply to some of the comments. I do NOT live in the U.K. The pit will NOT become a swimming pool. The broken pipe is just rubbish that was left under the floor before it was concreted. The construction method is appropriate for the application. I am a builder with 30 years experience,1...

Re: ***TRACKDAY Oulton Park - Friday 13th November SOLD OUT***

Hmm! I see on Facebook that for the Open Track day at Silverstone Dave is advising people of the Silverstone circuits policy that people in Tier 3 areas should not to attend, driving license addresses will be checked and if in a Tier 3 area entry will be refused. Silverstone is apparently a designat...

Re: RR54 Back to a red

Stripped the engine, this is the SC engine from T200 not from RR54, this morning and the water was in the primary inlet. Still cannot fathom how it got in there but fortunately no major rust damage to the rotors or the irons. The irons are still serviceable but the housings have chatter lines and gr...

Re: RR54 Back to a red

It’s an iPhone image so may we’ll be upside down! Decided to spin the engine out of T200 CAD over and squirt some oil into the chambers. I was most surprised when a load of water flew out of the plug holes! I hadn’t drained the block when I removed the engine but it wasn’t FL22 that came out. The i...

Sad to hear this Chris. Your M3 was a beast and unfortunately I never got to have a passenger ride in it [emoji17]. Still, looks like you've made the right decision [emoji16]. Will you be replacing it with something else? Sent from my VOG-L29 using Tapatalk Yes I miss it already. Doubt I will ever ...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Front lower arm adjusters were seized and top bushes were splitting as were several of the rear arm bushes on the T200 Subframes which I have refurbished. The front lower arm adjusters on RR54 are solid as are the rear ones so I thought sod it and have rebushed them all. In the process of removing t...

Re: RRP Semi PP engine - one step closer- update 19 Sept 20

This looks excellent Carl but it occurs to me that when the valves are closed the long length of the inlet pipes down to the ports will still be open to the combustion chamber and this may be a source of additional being drawn in that the MAF will not “see” and the mixture would be leaned if this ha...

It looks pretty and I love the idea of this with a turbo conversion for my R3... I just wish I knew what was going on and the concept behind what it is doing 😅... (That's how good my mechanical knowledge is)
Two extra inlet ports and two extra exhaust ports, what more do we need to know?
