Saw a filthy Phantom Blue evolve on the M6/M5 area yesterday heading South. Passed it, we both undertook some MLOC idiots, and then I think I went a different direction (heading for Cheltenham). And I can't say much for the filthy other than "I thought it was grey" - my car looks awful after doing 8...

I got a set of Bosch - with deflector on the 20" from autowindscreens for £18, which didn't seem bad comapred to the the £50 the dealer wanted. I told him a joke in return..... :) £50?! My dealer just replaced mine - I like to get the "OE" part when possible - it was £13 for one, tenner for ...

I'm wondering if I can ask my dealer to offset the list price of the new alloys against the chrome ones... and if possible, how much the chrome ones would cost me! I really, really want the chrome wheels on my car. I suspect I'm a bit sad. Anyway, my dealer noticed the (very slight) corrosion on my ...

RX8 10.01 Firmware request for keen DIYERS!
Anyone really keen on DIY... Could anyone with a 10.01 Firmware head unit who knows how to remove it and doesn't mind opening it please check this: http://sol20.com/ATENZA/maz_L716_E.htm It seems unlikely to me, but there's a chance - due to the fire, stocking and so forth - that our 2005-built RX8s...

Absolutely filthy silver Hi-Power (looked like Xenons, when far enough off my arse that I could see the lights ;) ) "PX53" on the A7 Carlisle to Edinburgh, at Longtown. Tailgated, passed two cars ahead on a blind bend, exceeded 30mph limit in Longtown, seemed up for a decent blast when I caught up p...

I love this car :D
Playing a bit on the local roads, and a BMW 3-series decides my 5-car passing (they were behind me) was in some way offending their manhood, so tailgated me whilst weaving around and crossing the white line on bends. Shabby. Anyway, there's a nice 20mph right angle bend, so I got set up to do a nice...

Height adjustable passenger seat
Basically, take the base from a US-spec driver's seat (ideally, don't strip it fully), and move the wiring, back and cushion over. Routing the wires is easy as long as you remember where they are, and it all bolts right in. Result is a vast improvement in passenger comfort for shorter people. The ti...

Automatic dipping rearview mirror and wipers are really useful items. Wipers especially - my Beetle had them and drizzly rain ceased to be a constant battle between too much rain, or too fast a setting for the wipers.
Automatic lights less so - and the kit looks, Mazda supplied or not, like a bodge.

Automatic lights!
Mazda Australia have an auto light on/off module - fits several Mazdas, including the RX8. Having seen the sensor (looks like a third-party alarm LED), I'm not particularly excited, but for $119, it's a possible addon for people. The kit consists of: - a control module - wiring and adaptors to tap i...
