Re: New safety recall notice - fuel tank

Well,Furrows of Shrewsbury have completed the arm swap and fuel issues plus alignement to a very good standard. Although they had the car for 5 days,a lot of time was spent waiting for parts. I would certainly recommend them for recall work,as nothing seems to be to much trouble, although,i bet they ...

Wouldn't he have to do another alignment if he undid the bush bolts though?

Hello all,i have the chance at an rx8 with no spark i have been told. Are there any really simple checks i can do to find out why without going into any great depths,as i will be looking in the rain, probably on the roadside, thanks, rob. :thumleft:

Re: Steering wheel centering

Well,i have succesfully swapped my rack over, and was very relieved to see the light go out. I did it the way i described above, and bingo,my wheel is central when in a straight line. I didn't encounter many difficulties, all quite easy really,so thought i would decat it as a present, all ready for the ...

Re: Shropshire / West Midlands Meet - Friday 13th March - **7pm**

Well, another sucessful meet with 7 people turning up,food was great as usual, and also found out that we have 2 scout masters in our ranks,so their skills in campfires and field craft should be very useful at the wanklin fest in Maytime. Our next meet is at the Fox and Hounds Shawbury,so who is up fo...

Re: Possible RX-8 purchase

Hj again mate, have you actually given the car a good visual inspection yet, as i said before, rust is the only real deal breaker at that price. I suppose it ammounts to how much work you are prepared to do yourself, but spares for these, particularly used ones are both plentiful and cheap at the momen...

585 coils for members use

Hello there,i have recently acquired a known good set of 585 coils, given to me by a friend and member of the club. I thought that it might be a good idea to use them on a borrow and return basis for the benefit of any members wishing to do any trouble shooting on their cars, before spending money on ...

Re: Possible RX-8 purchase

a big part of the advice being given is the assumption that you can do some of the work,if any is needed, yourself. i think that most of the replies so far are from people who are pretty handy with spanners.

Re: Possible RX-8 purchase

hi and welcome mate, the real emphasis has taken a big turn towards bodywork,if it was a rust free shell, and the suspension and subframes are in good nick,at 400 quid it has got to be work a punt. obviously ,get the owner to get it started, and if it does, then snap his hand off, with a good shell ever...

Re: Steering wheel centering

I may not have to swap the rack yet,but i went through a big flood the other day,and the power steering failed half way thru.
Obviously i will check the electrics first, but the rack has been grinding for a while now,so maybe time to do it anyway.

Re: Steering wheel centering

Try this James, i was going to swing the steering wheel to full lock either left or right, which is determined by the rack itself, then lock the steering wheel in that position so it cant turn either way. Then i would undo the tie rods from the rack and remove it. The new rack has no tie rods,so i wou...

Re: Steering wheel centering

I was thinking of something different to this as i will be seperating the rack from the tie rods before removal, thus leaving the rods and rod ends untouched, does this make sense? rob.
