Re: Best engine oil for the RX8 231?

Don't think I saw it mentioned but there is one called Synionic Rotary which is a 10W30. I'd never heard it till TPS mentioned it, but looks like it's designed for rotaries. Not sure if anyone uses it and has feedback but sounds good. I'll be using Millers Trident 10W40 for the moment and first oil ...

Yeah good luck with getting the car going Ollie. Sounds like a right pain. Sadly I have no useful advice to help, but hope you get it going with the advice of those far more knowledgeable than I.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

I had no idea about the offer till I went to buy so thought I'd let peeps know. I was just looking for the cheapest postage and packaging option, so that's why I was looking at different sites, and luckily saw this on demon tweeks. No idea how long it will last but fingers crossed it's till next wee...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

I had to look up Dvorak....?  Don't worry it's probably a good thing you didn't know. Sadly, it shows my geekiness. We had a running joke about this at my old job as the thing you definitely won't figure out without looking it up is how to actually pronounce it. My old boss kept saying i...

Pretty sure FML is used frequently in Superbad, which is one of my favourite movies, so ashamed I didn't know.

Could you enlighten me too Ollie? :? I guessed it as this one, which seems to be most common interpretation. https://www.merriam-webster.com/words-at-play/what-does-fml-mean Urban dictionary has it as 'fix my lighthouse' as the top definition, so I might have misunderstood. Don't know what Ollie me...

Re: Whilst I may have (metaphorically) Taken a bullet, I think I dodged the bomb

I remember when mine went a few years ago. I went to a kart race first thing in the morning in Chatham and on the way everytime I braked the car pulled to one side. I thought that's weird but I just thought I'd make it to the race and investigate after. On the way home I did some more brake tests an...

I remember you mentioned the rust when we met Duncan, but it's a shame it's so bad !! Will be a major project but that the same time you'll be able to Vactan everything like Phil did and really make a good future proofed car, so once you make it out at the end you will have a solid car that will las...

Re: my RRP Remote remap review, version2!

The good thing is you are able to hit that 155 mph limit that alot of the other cars have, so it means they won't just edge away on the straight after you've done the work and outdriven them in the corners!

Re: my RRP Remote remap review, version2!

well, when it revved out in 5th and was still pulling hard in 6th (that might equate to it still accelerating at 154 mph and i have no doubt it would break the 160 barrier...) i decided that the improvement is quite profound. Hi qwakers, I think I missed what you did afterwards with your replacemen...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

It’s the one thing that has always frustrated me with our RX8’s is that by the look of the car you should be able to cruise past a Clio 172/182 down the straight but it just won’t. I remember one time when a Megane renaultsport showed me up massively. The one with the va va voom behind. I was comin...

Mine is a 2nd car as well, a PZ version. The family car is a CX-5. Used mostly to go to karting events, and the odd mid-month drive to keep everything charged up. About 3000-4000 miles a year I reckon. Apart from one time due to a solar charger diode going the wrong way on me, never had a problem ju...

They look like kPa. So you would divide by 100 if so, which will give you bar, which unless I'm mistaken is what mazda testers would usually report in. Would be good to ask the tester what units for sure though.
