Re: For a giggle...

The Monza SP was in a case that had a glass that only periodically defogged so you had about 30 seconds to view. Was quite well done and a lovely looking car. Organised photos have nothing to do with me. Google photos does it all for me in exchange for them farming all my data. I don't like to be on...

Re: For a giggle...

I missed H. R. Owen opening up but I heard that they were allowed to use Berkeley Square Gardens for the day to display cars which would have made a good spot for a lunch break for the locals. Ranjan. Polluting the thread now but here are my pics from those few days .... ( Not sure why some pics ar...

Re: For a giggle...

[ Vinod, Bloody hell this is a small world; my place is right next to the Saudi Embassy about 2 mins walk from Farm Street and the Coach and Horses is one of my local watering holes. I have never seen a yellow RX8 around these parts; where on earth did he park on Curzon? If you ever looked out your...

Re: For a giggle...

Hey V-rex (what is your name?), small world; nice to meet a fellow Mayfairite. My daily running route starts and finishes at the Arab National Bank on Curzon street and once I reached the Alfa place at Portman Square, I used to turn back for home. If you ever saw an out-of-breath jogger in a “ShyCa...

Re: For a giggle...

Ranjan already has a Bentley Bentayga in Californian v-rex  Why does this not surprise me ? :D I am not a fan tbh, well the external looks anyway. Never been inside or driven one. I've seen a few Urus around which look interesting. I wonder which country Ranjan has one of those in.

Re: For a giggle...

Whoa Aston have an SUV now ? Man, i leave Mayfair for a few weeks and I'm already out of touch with the latest supercars. I only see white vans at my new job in the city of London... :( Yes I know that Alfa showroom well, the one just off Portman Square right ? I use to walk past it often on the way...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

I got 10% off at Black Circles...... I was on Pirelli P-Zeros but run flats were a bit firm (also didn't help not having TPMS, think i was running flat for about a week or so  ) LOL, I've never run run-flats. I guess that's what they are for !! Michelin are doing a deal at the moment where yo...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

As qwakers pointed out,i had a leaky front strut,so swapped that out today with a spare i had. also found the reason for the knocking i talked about, both lower strut bolts were loose,so that is now sorted. i am considering a pz suspension upgrade,so,what differences will i notice?,bearing in mind ...

Re: Ford S-Max - new family car needed

Oops, I didn't read the original question properly so ignore my car suggestions polluting this thread. I do like the sliding doors on the S-Max/Galaxy and other people carriers, very useful when getting kiddies in and out, when parked up in a car park with cars either side. There was a cab company c...

Re: Ford S-Max - new family car needed

I have two little ones and went with the CX5. I got the 2.0 skyactiv-g in manual and the sport nav spec. Comes with everything included for that spec and in petrol manual it's around 1300 kg so only 100kg more than a rex. 500L boot space and externally it's not too big, only 5 cm wider than a rex a...

Re: For a giggle...

" Yo momma! where is my Stelvio Quadrifoglio... I'm hungry" I think Stelvio comes from some Italian mountain pass and quadrifoglio is the Italian for cloverleaf? Not entirely sure why cloverleaf is used for Alfas top models but fair enough. They also have a Q4 model which i saw around and I got exc...

Re: For a giggle...

N-ring... lovely. An unusual colour scheme but it so works. Tbh the car looks great in red or blue as well. I think only the white does the car a disservice imo, but don't get me wrong I'd have it anyway! I seem to remember there were some extra goodies on the N-ring other than just the colour schem...

Re: For a giggle...

No way!! Really? Wow. I never win anything, not even a tenner on the lottery. I thought of it as I'd been looking at this one for a while. If I'm ever forced to ditch the RX8 and go one car, which with kiddies would have to be an SUV for the mo, then i would have loved to replace my CX5 and get this...

Re: For a giggle...

Never driven one but I am gonna throw the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio out there. i think 0-60 is similar to E63s ? No idea of comfort but I assume it's big enough to carry 4 people in comfort and plenty in the boot ? Is it as anonymous as a ford focus ? Not sure... I don't think I've ever seen o...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Added premix for the first time ever in 13 years and went for a drive in this lovely weather. For no reason other than to give the car a little bit of an italian tune up.... Used Motul 800 directly from the bottle, but was a little tricky. I have followed ChrisHolmes' excellent suggestion of the 100...

Re: Ceramic CATS and CAT recommendations

I'm currently sat in my electric car waiting for it to charge. I've spent about 5 hours sat in it today alone charging by the roadside. If only there was an efficient, lightweight, high revving small cubic capacity engine, that could generate a decent amount of horses, that wouldn't be intrusive, b...

Re: Ceramic CATS and CAT recommendations

Because even though it may not be the best option, it is often the cheapest option. I thought this idea was out there, but if you think about it, it does make alot of sense. With a cat there is always a danger of it failing and causing havoc, either exhaust or even engine, and the rotary does love ...

There are some great options out there, and some terrible ones.
Yes, all of us are hoping to try to avoid the terrible ones, but it's not always easy to figure out what's what when it comes to CAT's.

Thanks again, Carl for starting the thread !!

-Significant power gains over 2.5 inch exhaust systems and OEM systems What kind of numbers we talking here ? What is significant ? ... V-Rex, You missed one other company option: http://www.essexrotaryspecialists.com/shop/rx-8/rx-8-exhaust/ Oh yes, oops. Yes I looked into those before but forgot to include them in the list just now. I guess whilst we are at it Rotary Revs seems to do one at £240 which is an OEM replacement. Also a...

Re: Ceramic CATS and CAT recommendations

So.... Some really interesting cat company names put on this thread. HwAoRrDk ( this username took me a few moments to figure out !! ) - the TP cats thing is impressive. Some right proper sleuthing to find that one. Very weird that the don't sell in the UK directly, but amazing find at £160. Shame t...
